Michigan’s Adventure – A Thrill For The Whole Family

Living in Michigan there is a ton to see and do but sometimes with kids you need to get your thrill on and Michigan’s Adventure and WildWater Adventure gives you just that opportunity!

Michigans Adventure

Living just outside of Lansing, Michigan, the nice thing about Michigan’s Adventure is that it is only a little more than two hours away from us, so being able to get up in the morning and then heading over without getting up too early is still possible. We visited Michigan’s Adventure this year on a Saturday and the hours were from 11AM to 10PM. Seeing that they opened a little later in the morning we had some time which allowed the kids to sleep longer than usual. We got on the road and it was a very easy ride, for us all on highways. Once we got to the park, we found that there actually were quite a few people already there even though it was only 11AM (which was surprising).

Michigan’s Adventure does offer a few options as it comes to admissions. There are options for regular admissions, but also ones that will offer you a “fast pass” to get to the front of some of the popular rides. With prices starting at $33.00 this is very reasonable for all that you get. The fast pass starts at $68 per person, but I will tell you for the day that we visited there were definitely times when a fast pass would have been handy as we did have to wait and there were some lines we simply chose not to stand in as they were longer.

The park itself was fun as there were rides for all ages and with the mix of amusement rides and water park rides you can really break up the day. We ended up trying to use the first half of the day, when it was cooler, to do the amusement park and then transitioned to the water park. This worked out well for our family and while we could have spent numerous more hours in the park we definitely felt that we got our time out of the park. We also found that by mid-afternoon many of the lines on the rides had gone down tremendously, much of which was because they had transitioned over to WildWater Adventure.

There were some new things in the past since the last time we were here. On of the things that my youngest daughter loved was the new Funland Farm where you can get up close and personal with some very cool animals. She loved being able to pet a Llama and a deer among other animals too! On top of this there were some other great new things and I found that looking at this list of 100 reasons to visit this great park!

We had a blast at the park and really jumped into the roller coasters. We loved the Cork Screw but also found that with rides like Shivering Timbers, Thunderhawk, and Wolverine Wildcat you can definitely get your thrill on and you will be coming back for more and more, or at least we were!

Michigans AdventureThere were smaller roller coasters too like Zach’s Zoomer which was also a family favorite. As you can see Michigan’s Adventure is truly a place where you can have a family vacation if you so choose. To be honest we would be considering a family season pass if we lived closer!

Michigans Adventure

I would be remiss to not talk about WildWater Adventure – This is Michigan Adventure’s incredible water park, which features thrills and fun activities for all including Beach Party, Boogie Beach, Cabana Rentals, and more!

My kids loved all of the waterslides and it was like pulling teeth getting them out of the wave pool. The nice thing was that WildWater Adventure is spread out so that you don’t have to feel that you are on top of many other people. With three wave pools, if one is full of people you can go to another and find that there is much more room for you and your family.

We had an amazing day and we are already talking about whether we could fit in another visit again this summer. If you have never visited Michigan’s Adventure in the past, you should definitely make a visit. You and your family will not be disappointed, I know my family wasn’t!
