Beauty, Color and Glass at Seattle’s Chihuly Garden and Glass

March 22, 2024 by dadofdivas

Chihuly Garden and Glass

The final stop of our trip to Seattle had to be one of my favorite. I have been a huge admirer of Dale Chihuly for many years. His use of color and glass is just remarkable. This being said, we were excited to visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass and thanks to my friends at City Pass we were able to do just that.

The Chihuly Garden and Glass is truly remarkable. Walking into the first gallery you are truly transported into a whole new world of color and beauty. The pictures below do not do justice to the artistry that is shown here in the displays in this venue.

Through the use of light with the glass, the colors just explode throughout the Chihuly Garden and Glass.

I will let the pictures below walk you through some of the journey, but know that these just touch the tip of the iceberg per se as it comes to all that you will see and experience when you come and visit for yourself (and you should definitely visit!)

Touching the Sky in the Seattle Space Needle

March 20, 2024 by dadofdivas

space needle

During our trip to Seattle I had a chance to take my family to the Seattle Space Needle thanks to my friends at City Pass. This iconic location is one that you see in every picture you see of the city and it towers over the downtown area.

The elevator ride views are just the beginning as you go up to the top. When you get to the top, we were lucky enough to be able to have a great day with clear skies that gave us views of all directions. With the moving floor you can stay inside and see everything or you can go outside as well.

For people that are adventurous, you can also stand on the floor that is transparent and when you do you are looking straight down to the ground. If you are afraid of heights, that might not be be what you want to do.

My family spent a good amount of time up at the top and we completely loved the experience and so will you!

This is a site I highly recommend all to see!

Seeing Seattle By Boat on a Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour

March 18, 2024 by dadofdivas

During our trip to Seattle, I had a chance for my family to see Seattle from a different vantage point, by water. Thanks to using my City Pass, we were able to take an Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour.

Taking this boat tour gave you a different view of the city and the tour guide was very knowledgeable of the city as well. While you could go outside to get some pictures and enjoy the views, I enjoyed sitting inside to listen to our cruise guide and learn more about the city!

The cruise was a ton of fun, and while we took the harbor cruise, Argosy had a number of other cruises that would take you further away from the city as well as other places depending on the amount of time that you had.

This was an enjoyable ride and I also learned a lot about the city that I never knew!

Highly recommend this tour!

Understanding Aquatic Life Surrounding Seattle

March 17, 2024 by dadofdivas

Seattle Aquarium

During our trip to Seattle, my family and I got to learn so much more about the aquatic life surrounding Seattle in general by visiting the Seattle Aquarium thanks to my friends at City Pass.

The Seattle Aquarium was super busy with young and old. One of the things that really impressed me about the location was that as a Aquarium is focused primarily on native species. This was great, as I did not know a lot about the area and through this visit I learned a ton about the life under the water that surrounds Seattle.

The docents at the Aquarium were knowledgeable and really pushed you to learn as you interacted with them!

Highly recommend this for anyone who loves Aquariums and those that want to learn more about aquatic life around the Seattle area!

Riding The Ducks In Seattle – Fun For All Ages

October 29, 2017 by dadofdivas

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

Whenever I go to a new city I love being able to see the city completely, whether I am with my family or myself. This allows me to better understand the history of the city but also what makes the city and the people what they are!

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

In my recent visit to Seattle, I had the chance to Ride the Ducks, the Duck Boats of Seattle that bring you all over Seattle and even over to Fremont where you can go into the water!

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

The duck boats are old world war boats that have been retrofitted from the military use to be able to bring guests around the city. When you get onto the boat you have a driver as well as a Captain. As I stood waiting for my boat to arrive I saw a few boats coming in and I could tell that the people on the duck boats were having a great time as they were hooping and hollering when they got back.

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

When we got on the boat you are assigned a seat. You may get a seat right next to a friend or loved one, but if you ride as a solo individual you might even make a new friend on the journey too. Once we were all on the boat we met our Captain and you could tell in the first few minutes that this would be a ride that we would not forget.

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

The Captain was a character in his own right, and he definitely made it clear that we were going to have a great time on this trip.

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

We left our starting point at the Seattle Center and our Captain started giving us a ton of history of Seattle, along with humor, music and more. We sang, waved at people and simply had a great time.

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

The Duck Boats bring you through many parts of Seattle and even if you have seen the city before, this is a whole new way to see the city and because you are able to get out of the city t Fremont, you also get to see the city from a distance while on the water of Lake Union.

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

One of the fun things about riding on the duck boats is that you are able to get onto the water of Lake Union. While the boat does not go that fast, it allows you to see such things as the house from Sleepless in Seattle as well as the Space Needle from a distance. You get to learn about Gas Works Park as well as get to see an amazing array of boats and houseboats that are definitely expensive real estate options!

Seattle's Ride the Ducks

If you have never been on the Ride the Ducks tour I highly recommend it. The tour was 90 minutes of pure fun!
