My Take on the Movie

What I loved about this movie is that it really pulls together the Indiana Jones movies and allows them to be concluded in a way that was dignified, action-packed and classic. The grandious nature of the film, the action-packed scenes and more allow for the movie to transport any viewer into a whole new time and era. You will be on the edge of your seat and be clamoring for more until the very end! While I am sad to know this is the end of the era of Indiana Jones movies, I am happy that the sendoff was so sweet!

The Little Mermaid – Be A Part of Her World

July 30, 2023 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

The Little Mermaid

Relive the magic of one of Disney’s most beloved films when the “radiant and romantic live-action retelling” (Jenna Anderson, ComicBook.com) of The Little Mermaid becomes available to audiences to enjoy at home. Rob Marshall’s sparkling new take “captures the magic of the original” (Ross Bonaime, Collider) while “Halle Bailey simply soars” (Pete Hammond, Deadline) as she brings viewers into the world of Ariel and on a magical journey. Walt Disney Studios’ The Little Mermaid arrives at digital retailers (Apple TV, Prime Video and Vudu/Fandango) on July 25 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on September 19. Fans can add the film to their collection and access exclusive bonus features including a sing-along version of the film, song breakdowns, bloopers, and exclusive featurettes.

Film Synopsis
The Little Mermaid is visionary filmmaker Rob Marshall’s live-action reimagining of Disney’s beloved animated musical classic, the story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. “The Little Mermaid” is directed by Rob Marshall with a screenplay by David Magee, and is produced by Marc Platt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, John DeLuca and Rob Marshall.

My Take on the Movie

This was a great reimagining of the classic Disney film. I did not know what to expect, but I was blown away by the cast, the cinematography and digital magic that was used to create this and more. The movie definitely surpassed my expectations and the songs were sung beautifully. One of the things I appreciated was that it delved deeper into some things you did not get in the original. For example, you learned more about Eric’s upbringing. While some of the characters were a bit different than in the original film, you will still find yourself loving them. Halle Bailey did a remarkable job as Ariel, but the whole cast really hit this out of the park!  Highly recommend for the whole family!
