It’s Fall and That Means Finding a Great Burger at Applebee’s

October 9, 2017 by dadofdivas 4 Comments

Fireball Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's

Leaves are falling, kids are in activities like soccer and school is back in session. On top of this, football is back and you can feel the tension in the air when it is game day. I know for me, having ways to bring my family together while eating some great food is always a ton of fun! I am also a HUGE fan of finding a great burger (as this is a comfort food for me) and every time I go to Applebee’s I continue to find amazing burgers available there. If you have never gone to Applebee’s you should, and when you are there, not only will you be surrounded by some great sports action, but the food is remarkable too.

Applebee's

As I was thinking about the burgers that I have eaten at Applebee’s in the past, I found out some very things about Applebee’s burgers. Did you know:

  • Applebee’s burgers each feature a unique combination of ingredients seared into ground beef,
then piled high with delicious toppings.
  • The largest cheeseburger ever made was 2,014 pounds.
  • Applebee’s has a variety of burgers to suit any kind of cravings. Here are all the delicious burger
    offerings:

    • The American Standard: Pickles, bacon and onions seared into an all-beef patty and
topped with American cheese and signature sauce.
    • The All-Day Brunch: Bacon and onions seared into an all-beef patty and topped with
fried egg, crispy hash browns, American cheese and ketchup.
    • The Blazin’ Texan: Onions and jalapeños seared into an all-beef patty and topped with
shredded BBQ brisket, fresh jalapeños, Cheddar and signature grill sauce.
    • The Triple Bacon: Bacon seared into an all-beef patty and topped with bacon, Cheddar
      and BBQ bacon ranch.
    • NEW Whisky Bacon Burger: Fried caramelized onions and applewood smoked bacon
seared into an all-beef patty and topped with Fireball® Whisky-infused steak sauce,
applewood smoked bacon, crispy onions, and pepper jack cheese.
    • NEW Caprese Mozzarella Burger: Sautéed garlic and onions seared into an all-beef
patty and topped with balsamic aioli, grilled tomatoes, grilled red onions, fresh
mozzarella, and fresh basil. Served with classic fries.
    • Quesadilla Burger: Mexi-ranch sauce, bacon, pico de gallo & shredded lettuce in a Jack
      & cheddar quesadilla.

Applebee's

We love to eat at Applebee’s! Applebee’s is one of the world’s largest casual dining brands, and amazingly there are nearly 1,800 Applebee’s. There are even franchise restaurants in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and 14 other countries. We love the lively casual dining experience which combines simple, craveable American fare, classic drinks and local drafts and allows families to come in and know that they will have a family friendly experience.

Applebee's

Applebee’s offers craveable menu items such as:

  • All-day Brunch Burger
  • Bourbon Street Chicken + Shrimp
  • Oriental Chicken Salad
  • Four-Cheese Mac + Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders
  • Caprese Mozzarella Chicken
  • Triple Chocolate Meltdown

Talk about good stuff!!

Sun Basket helps parents to create delicious and healthy meals!

In every parent’s life one of the things that can be challenging is finding the time to create meals that are nutritious and delicious too. With kids activities as well as our own, we can get pulled in many different directions. This lack of time can cause us to fall back on easy fixes which may not use the most fresh ingredients or work to create unique recipes.

In every Sun Basket box, they provide customers with delicious and healthy meals made from premium organic and sustainably sourced ingredients.

Sun Basket helps customers create delicious and healthy meals made from premium organic and sustainably sourced ingredients.
From introducing new flavors to kids, to helping people achieve their weight loss goals, Sun Basket has become an important partner in the kitchen.

Sun Basket 3 Meals Free

I had the opportunity to try out three meals from Sun Basket to see what I thought and I have t say that I agree that they are creating some amazing meals that are very unique!

In every Sun Basket box, they provide customers with delicious and healthy meals made from premium organic and sustainably sourced ingredients.

When the meals arrive they come well packaged and ready for preparation. You receive almost everything that you need to create the meals that you need. The only things that I was missing for the creation of the meals that I selected included oil, salt and pepper.

In all three of the meals that I made I found that the recipe instructions that were provided were easy to follow. Each of the recipe cards had step-by-step instructions to follow that even provided time estimates for how long it will take to make the food too. I found that some of the recipes were right on target for the time it took me and some took longer, but I think it depended on your own abilities in the kitchen too.

In every Sun Basket box, they provide customers with delicious and healthy meals made from premium organic and sustainably sourced ingredients.

The food that was provided to you is very healthy and organic. For my kids this was the first time they had tried a few of the items that we received. Things like Jicama and a seasoning called Sumac and coconut sugar.

This was the first time I had ever tried one of these mail service meal companies and I could not be happier with the food or the service!

In every Sun Basket box, they provide customers with delicious and healthy meals made from premium organic and sustainably sourced ingredients.

It’s Time For A Hormel Foods #TacoGoals Night!

April 19, 2016 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Hormel taco meat
 photo disclaimer_zpsaa1cb05b.jpg

When it comes to weekly dinners, our weeks tend to be very hectic. With piano lessons, soccer, art, and so many other things that seem to fill our schedules, having food that can not only bring us together but that is easy (and quick) to make is critical too.

My family and I love to have Tacos and usually at least once a week we try and have tacos together. Whether it is Taco Tuesday or another day in the week we come together and have a bit of a Mexican fiesta. These days are a ton of fun and we love and cherish the day and anything that we can find to make it even more fun it even better!

Hormel taco meat

Hormel just recently unveiled brand new Hormel Foods Taco Meats that come in four great varieties.

We tried two of the Hormel Foods Taco Meats varieties and I have to say that the meat was so easy to make. You easily just throw the Hormel Foods Taco Meats in the microwave and they are ready in no time. Get your favorite shells (soft or hard – you pick) and add on your favorite toppings and you are ready to party!

Hormel taco meat

The flavor of the Hormel Foods Taco Meats meats was so great. The meat tasted amazing and even the kids liked it. Best of all was the time it saved.

I would highly recommend that you check out these Hormel Foods Taco meats for yourself –  you will not be disappointed!

Dinner with Dad… Always an Adventure – Thoughts & a Giveaway

June 12, 2011 by dadofdivas

When you have kids you definitely have had had experiences that you will not forget. There have been many with me thus far and I know that there will be many to come as well. I was thinking about this the other day and I started to laugh when I thought about some of the funny experiences and realized that a number of these experiences revolved around the dinner table. There is just something about being at a dinner table that can the giggles flowing (at least at my house).

One of the funniest experiences that I can remember happened before we had our second child and my eldest and I were having dinner together. She had been playing hard all day and I knew that she was tired, but I still made her favorite dinner because I wanted to her to eat and then it would be off to bed. Things were going well, dinner was made and I served it up and we started to eat. Yet, soon into dinner I could tell that Diva-J was getting more and more tired, but she was eating. I went to the refrigerator for something quick and when I returned, I found my daughter sleeping in her spaghetti. I raised her head and tried to talk to her and then her head just fell forward yet again (this time I caught it). I just had to laugh out loud. Needless to say I ended up cleaning her up and getting her to bed, but all-in-all that made my night.

Looking back at this I realize that it is usually the small things that are memorable, conversations, jokes, words, rituals, all can make for an amazing family experience and life together. I love having time myself to spend with my kids alone and with J-Mom, but the times that I have by myself are even more special and ones that I treasure. When I speak to other fathers they too agree with me on this. What do you say? So take a moment this week and get out, or stay in, but take time with your kids and simply have fun!

    Overheard the other day….

    November 19, 2009 by dadofdivas 1 Comment

Diva-J has been a bit of a slow poke lately when it comes to finishing her meals. The other night at dinner the following was overheard…

    Diva-J – Don’t worry mom, I’ll be done in a gypsy!

J-Mom – You mean you’ll be done in a jiffy?

    Diva-J – Oh yeah…that’s what I meant.

Maniverse #12 – Drama at Dinnertime

    August 8, 2008 by dadofdivas 4 Comments

I have been noticing lately that at least in our household, dinnertime is filled with drama. Diva-J has a tendency to do great with her breakfast and lunch meals, but dinnertime is always a struggle. I think that a lot of this is in regards to the fact that breakfast and lunch are quite structured and she knows what to expect during those meals, while dinner is not going to be the same meal each day. In our home breakfast revolves around a handful (less than 4 choices) and lunch is usually only 2-3 choices.

Imagine the situation…dinner is on the table, prayers have been said and Mom and Dad are eating with eldest child sitting there saying they will not eat. Mom and Dad state the ramifications for not eating (no dessert, no snack before bedtime, etc.) This may or may not work, but instead can escalate the drama…”I want dessert” or “I want a snack”. The child is calmly told what they need to do, but does this assist this child in eating… in our household, not always.

I know that the key for this is consistency, but for children that are persistent, does consistency work? I would hope that the answer is yes, as I know that for parents who have these types of children, that it can be very stressful and concerning when a child is not eating and is distracting from a calm family meal.

I mean who would not want to have a calm family meal – remember Leave it to Beaver …with the Beaver talking to mom and dad about their day. Everyone eating peacefully and talking together…. Ah if this was the traditional reality…

In doing some research and searching this out, I have found that I am not alone. The following blogs have shown similar concerns:

    • http://secretmomthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/07/dinner-time-drame.html
    • http://talk.milehighmamas.com/viewtopic.php?f=120&t=123001555&p=231725
    • http://www.seriouseats.com/talk/2008/02/tricks-to-get-kids-to-eat.html

Below is a video that I identified. Does this sound familiar in your home? How would you react and deal with the situation?

    Dinner time drama

Some experts state that there are things that we all can do to not only support healthy eating habits but also lessen the drama that may be occurring within your own home.

    • http://www.healthychild.net/articles/na18picky.html
    • http://parentingresources.suite101.com/article.cfm/getting_children_to_eat_right
    • http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/toddlers/toddlers2.html

I leave you today with a question – How do you deal with drama at dinner or other meal period. What tricks and suggestions do you have for other parents?
