The #Dad2Summit ( @Dad2Summit ) Encourages #RealStrength in San Francisco #DadChat
Over the next few days I will be in San Francisco for the Dad 2.0 Summit. This is the third year that I have attended the summit and each year gets better and better so I am looking forward to seeing what the organizers and brands have in store for us. That being said I have to say that the summit itself is not just about blogging, but it is about fatherhood, being a dad (and what that means), it is about reconnecting with old friends and making new friendships too and so much more. So often dads don’t take the time to learn from other dads. Too often men are taught to compartmentalize and set aside emotions. At this summit you see all of the cards laid out and that is refreshing for me and for all.
On top of this, I also love that so many great brands are coming to the Dad 2.0 Summit this year. Every year more and more brands realize that it is not just women who are making family purchasing decisions. It is refreshing to see so many brands spotlighting dads in so many positive ways now, not just portraying the dad as an unknowing klutz that could not watch the kids without destroying the house. One great example of this was a Superbowl Ad from Dove Men+ Care (who has been a sponsor of this summit for many years) that talks about #RealStrength and fatherhood.
You might have read that also at this conference tonight at 6PM PST/9PM EST Bruce Sallan and I will be hosting our weekly #DadChat live at the Dad 2.0 Summit and we will actually be talking about #RealStrength as it relates to men and women. I hope that you will join us along the way for this discussion.
I am always excited to attend this conference as it reinvigorates me to be a better father and man and I come back even more committed to my family and what I am doing as a dad, and I know that other attendees feel the same.
Watch my posts over the next few days as well as my social media platforms for more insights from the conference!
