Saving Money on Gas at Kroger While Working on my Dental Health

January 18, 2019 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Kroger

One of the things that I love about shopping at Kroger is the fact that you can save money on gas when you purchase items there. You can get points for regular purchases but there are special periods of time where you can get even more points for the money that you’re spending.

Crest
Right now is that time when it comes to Crest. Between now and January 22nd you can get five times the points when you purchase Crest items. This is an amazing add-on and it can really impact your overall wallet when it comes to filling up at the Kroger gas tank.
Crest
Gas prices can be expensive at times so being able to have $0.30 off $0.60 off even a dollar off can really make a difference.
Kroger
So what better time to get your dental routine back in gear. It’s a new year and you have the opportunity to also save a ton of money with these great deals.
Crest
There is never been a better time to stock up on a crest so I encourage you to grab some today.

What’s In Your Stocking This Year?

December 18, 2018 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

crest

As you get ready for the holidays, one of the things that we have to do in my home is put together gifts to fill our personal stockings. These are not the stockings that Santa fills, but instead we have homemade stockings that we have had for years.

As we put together the stockings we always put together items that are small and practical but also fun. You have to know the people that you are shopping for, but we always come up with some things that are typical and needed. For me, below is a list of some of the go to gifts that always seem to end up in my and my kids’ stockings.

Dried Cherries

For me Dried Cherries are a treat that are truly amazing. Being from Michigan Cherries are definitely something that we can get around the State but we do not always get this as it is something that we do not get often.

Socks

Yes, it is not glamorous, but by the end of every year you need socks, whether they are casual or dress socks (or at least I always do). For my wife it is always fuzzy warm socks and for my kids, they always seem to want (or get) socks that are themed to some of their favorite things (Disney, Harry Potter and more).

Small Toys or Collectables

In our stockings you can find little items that are perfect for the ones that you loved. In my stockings sometimes I will even get a mini Funko character. My kids get art supplies or portable games, journals or other items that they love in the end.

Toothpaste

As I mentioned, getting items that are practical and used everyday is inevitable. One of the things that everyone always gets is a tube of Crest. Why? In our family dental care is important and we have imparted that to all of our kids as well. The kids know that this is important to us and in the end it will be for them as well (whether they know it or not).

Kroger is making it easy to stock up on Crest and save, so you can keep your teeth and gums healthy all holiday season long. Also, in my last trip to Kroger I found out that they were having a deal that would make sticking stuffing so much easier. Right now from 12/12 to 12/25 you can get buy 3 get 1 free.

These are only a few things that end up in our stockings. It is so much fun to get creative in the gifts that we give and my family always is SO excited to be able to get and to give their stocking gifts to each other.

Do you give stocking gifts to each other? If so, what items are mainstay items for your stockings?

Enjoy your candy but have a routine to safeguard your #smile with @Crest

October 30, 2018 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Crest Halloween

It’s almost Halloween and that means all of fun aspects of the season, including my daughters picking out their costumes and of course bringing home candy after a night of crazy tricks and treats.

Crest Halloween

As a dad, one of the things that I have to help my daughters balance is their love of candy and the health of their teeth. This happens around Halloween, but really throughout the year too. It has been important over the years to have conversations with my daughter about making good decisions about their dental health and knowing what they can do to keep cavities away.

Crest Halloween

For me, it is always about routine when it comes to a dental routine. While I like a good Peanut Butter cup as much as the next person, I know that I need to make sure to brush my teeth soon after I eat the sweet treat. I also make sure to floss my teeth every night. I will be honest and say that I did not have this routine all of my life, but as I got into my 30’s I had a poignant conversation with my Grandfather at the end of his life. He told me that the one regret that he had in life was that he did not take better care of his teeth. This to me was a turning point. I had always heard that it could take some time to solidify a new routine and this was the case for me as well. However, when I did work at it, though there may have been some slips, within only a few weeks it was the routine. Now, it is my normal and I could not think of anything different.

Crest Halloween

As my kids have gotten older I have shared my story with them. I do not know whether it is making a difference, but I do see them having their own routine, and while it may be different than mine, I am glad to see that they stay consistent in this routine. It helps to have good dental products on the market and for us we love the type of toothpaste that Crest offers–it really works!

Crest Halloween

Seeing that my family does love using Crest, I was super excited to find out that Crest and Kroger are working together to make sure you and your family won’t enter November with a mouthful of cavities! In preparation for Halloween, a variety of Crest products will be on sale at Kroger for $2.99. Additionally, on 10/28, a $1-off coupon insert will be available inside local newspapers across the U.S., giving readers a discount on their favorite Crest Toothpaste varieties through 11/10. So, bring on the candy because Crest has you covered this Halloween.

Crest Halloween
And, for even more fun, Crest just released some very interesting statistics from their very own Crest Candy Confessions survey. Take a look at some of their findings:

Crest Halloween

  • 86% of parents eat candy that was given to their child while trick-or-treating.
    Crest Halloween
  • Most people (73%) purposefully buy more Halloween candy than they needed for trick-or-treaters so they can eat the extra.
  • 44% of parents admitted to eating more Halloween candy than their children.
  • Only 48% of adults enforce a stricter teeth brushing/flossing routine on Halloween for themselves. However, 70% parents enforce stricter teeth brushing/routines on Halloween for their children.
  • Sneaky parents! Over 50% of parents admitted that they snuck a few pieces of candy from their children’s candy stash without them noticing. 34% of parents insisted on “inspecting” the candy, only to hide a stash for themselves. Only 4% of parents reported that they do not eat their child’s candy.
    Crest Halloween
  • The average parent eats one-fourth of their children’s Halloween candy.
  • Four in 10 adults say they enjoy the holiday even more now than when they were a child. For 37% of these adults, the reason why is because there’s no limit on the amount of candy they can consume.
    Crest Halloween
  • A responsible 58% of adults do limit their candy consumption on Halloween night and 75% of parents limit the amount of candy their children eat on the holiday.
    Crest Halloween
  • Seven in 10 parents enforce a stricter teeth brushing and flossing routine on Halloween, and 41% compensate for Halloween candy by serving a healthier dinner on the holiday itself or the next night.
  • 72.7% of mothers limit their children to a maximum of 10 pieces of candy on Halloween. Fathers set their child’s candy limit a bit higher, with over 60% setting limits between 11 – 31+.
  • Kids looking to swap their candy for cold, hard cash or toys will have a better chance with dad. 23.59% of dads said they would offer to buy back their kids’ candy as away to limit their children’s candy consumption. Only 8.95% used this tactic.
    • Dads are also more likely to trade candy for toys or other small gifts. 38.53% of dads use this tactic whereas only 14.48% of moms would.

Halloween also wouldn’t be the same without Halloween candy! Crest proves this point by bringing a group of school-aged children together for a focus group where they are asked to test out some new healthy alternatives for the season. Check out what these kids had to say!

Fall Treats & The Importance of Healthy Habits

September 28, 2018 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Fall Treats & The Importance of Healthy Habits

With the new fall season comes many of fall’s favorite treats – pumpkin spice, apple cider and other apple treats, and ginger delights…yum! While these are delicious (I am a sucker for pumpkin spice) this also means that you cannot forget about the importance of your brushing routine. When you are tempted by sweet treats, you need to remember to keep a healthy brushing routine daily.

Fall Treats & The Importance of Healthy Habits

I know that when I get into the fall I have to keep up with my routine, which is brushing 2 times a day with flossing as well. For me, I have been really impressed with the products I have found at Kroger when it comes to dental health. Not only does Kroger have a ton of items to choose from but they also have some great ways to save money too.

Fall Treats & The Importance of Healthy Habits

One way to do this is that from September 28-29, Kroger is offering a $0.50-off Digital Coupon for Crest Cavity Protection and Tartar Protection paste. The paste, which normally costs $2.19 per 6.4 oz tube, will be sold at a temporarily reduced price of $1.49. The final cost after applying the Digital Coupon will be only $0.99 per tube! If you won’t be able to get to the store on 9/28 or 9/29, a Crest coupon insert can also be found in newspapers nationwide on Sunday–giving them you an additional $1 off any Crest Toothpaste or Kid’s Crest Toothpaste through 10/14.

Fall Treats & The Importance of Healthy Habits Fall Treats & The Importance of Healthy Habits

I am all about saving money and every little bit helps when you are from a middle class family!

Do you have a favorite toothpaste – for me it is probably Crest (as I grew up with this). What about you? Leave a comment below and let me know your favorite

Also, don’t forget to grab the deal for yourself at your local Kroger!
