For me this movie looks like it is going to have it all. Action, adventure and a number of new Super Heroes that we have not seen previously in the new DC universe which will be awesome. On top of this, part of the movie was filmed within 15 minutes from my house so for that alone I am interested in seeing some of the familiar sights through new eyes.

I really got to thinking about the film and about the character of Superman on a recent trip to Walmart. I picked up a few cases of Dr Pepper for an upcoming party we were having and I have to say that not only is the outer packaging cool (as you can see in the pictures that I have posted) but the cans were too. On top of this, because of the cases I am looking forward to some Fandango cash that I can use toward going and seeing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when as it hits the theaters on March 25th.

Running this contest I have been thinking about my own experiences with Dr Pepper growing up.You see, as the days and years to come I intend to keep building memories with my daughters,and many of these will revolve around things I grew up with myself as a kid. One of the things that I vividly remember are the times when I was able to relax with my own dad and just talk around a cold beverage. No television, no frills. For me, I usually chose Dr Pepper as there was something with the flavor that always was alluring. I am not saying this because this post is sponsored by them, far from it. I actually was very pleased to be asked by them because of the memories I do have around it. Now with my own girls I can build my own memories that they too can remember always, and that is special for me (and I hope for them too). So, as you can probably guess, while there is always something to do, I know that many times I need to put down the computer, get down on the floor, coloring pictures, playing cars or some other activity, as my kids see me as their Super Hero.

I have been thinking of this Super Hero identity lately. I know that so many of us who are dads realize that we have secret identities. As a working dad, by day I am a mild-mannered businessman, but once I get in my car and head for home a transformation occurs. You change back to the Superman that your kids expect you to be. Once you hit the door and walk in, your kids expect you to be the man of steel, fighting for them always and being greater who sometimes you even feel that you can be.

As you might guess, this can be a BIG burden to carry at times, at least I know that it always has been for me. I have found that there have been many times in the years that I have been a dad when I did not feel like a Superman, far from it. Sometimes I have felt more like a Lex Luthor or The Joker when it comes to decisions that I make. However, in the end, I still have to put on the cape and stand up for my kids and for what is right. Hopefully, I will be bulletproof no matter what is thrown at me figuratively or literally.

While this is a bit grandiose as a way of thinking of fatherhood, it is something that I think of daily, especially now that I see the trailer more and more of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. I want to be that man that my kids can look up to in all that I do. I know I will not always succeed, but I will try and at the end of the day, when I am alone, I can reflect and hopefully smile because of the good deeds I am doing to help my kids grow to be the adults that I hope that they will become.
