Voltron Legendary Defender Toys Brings Voltron To Life!

I have been a HUGE fan of Voltron ever since it came out in the 1980’s. I was excited to find out that Netflix came out with a new series from DreamWorks Animation, Voltron Legendary Defender, which debuted as a Netflix original series in June 2016. he series is a contemporary reimagining of the pop culture phenomenon featuring five young pilots of mystical robot lions that combine to form Voltron, the most powerful defender in the universe. I watched a number of the episodes and was really impressed with the quality and the story that was being shared.

Recently I have even seen that there are a number of very cool toys that surround the new Voltron series. I received a few of the new Playmates Toys, Voltron Legendary Defender toys.

The collection from Playmates Toys, which hit shelves at select retailers nationwide this month, features a wide range of action figures and roleplay including:

The highly detailed and articulated basic action figure assortment includes all of the heroes and villains of Voltron, and each figure comes equipped with incredibly fun action features.
The Legendary Lion assortment includes all 5 Lions that can combine to unlock unique phrases and sounds from the show and form a 16” articulated Voltron figure.
The 14” Ultimate Voltron Figure features electronic lights, sounds, incredible detail, articulation and more.
The roleplay assortment includes Voltron and Red Lion masks and swords, as well as an electronic transforming version of Voltron’s sword.

As mentioned I received a few of these and have to say that the toys are amazingly lifelike and very true to the series. The toys’ limbs move easily and I found that they made me want to go out and find the other four lions that I had not yet collected to be able to form the full Voltron character. While I have yet to do this, I hope to still do this soon.
