MasterCard Bill Pay Program Makes Paying Bills Easy
All of us have bills to pay each month and while some companies are making it easy to pay bills, MasterCard is making it even easier through their Bill Pay program. I had never heard about this program but the idea of being able to use my Mastercard was intriguing as making it easier to pay bills is definitely something that I want in my life, and if this means that I can also have the chance to win some money by paying my bills, sign me up!
You may be asking, why have I never used this program before. well, for one, I didn’t know it existed. I use my Credit Card all of the time for purchases as I really do not carry cash around with me. However I do maintain a monthly budget and always make sure to pay off my card each month, as I have numerous friends who have gotten in trouble with credit card debt and I do not want that.
I have used my MasterCard for many years as my card is connected through the UPromise program and I receive a percentage back from all of the purchases that I make toward the education of my kids, so the rewards for using my MasterCard are amazing! Also, for me, using my MasterCard is easy and convenient, and there are no stops at the bank to get Cash or time to write out a check.
On top of the rewards MasterCard is also sweetening the deal this summer by letting anyone that uses their MasterCard between August 1 – October 31, 2013 for purchases, including wireless, cable, utility, insurance and healthcare bills and more you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win $60,000.* I know I could use $60,000 – how about you?
When I heard about this Bill Pay program I first asked myself who could I use it for. The above site that you see is the initial screen that I went to to find the program itself and enter the directory of places that allow you to use your MasterCard to pay your bill.
The directory is quite self-explanatory and I found it to be easy to use. I liked the categories that they allow you to select from and the zipcode delimiter was nice too as it allowed me to see the things in my area that pertained. I looked through all of the categories and was a bit surprised to not find my cell phone provider (T-Mobile) and I had wished that I could use this for paying down some of my student loan that is serviced by Sallie Mae, but these two programs were not there. That does not mean that there was not a ton though that you could use this for. I decided to look at utilities and seeing that I use Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison for my utilities, I was happy to see both here. I chose to select Detroit Edison so that I could pay off a bill that I had coming due.
One of the nice things is that when you select a company the MasterCard Bill Pay program will provide you with a link that will take you to where you need to go to set up your MasterCard for payment. For me when I was taken to the DTE site, I ended up signing into my account and then being able to easily go to set up my payment options.
As you can see below I was able to add in my information below and then be able to save this into the account as a payment option that I could use in the future. You can also set up an auto-bill pay using your preferred billing method too which is convenient and definitely makes you feel secure that you will not miss a payment.
Once you have the credit card information entered you can easily set the amount you need to pay as well as the payment method.
Once you have reviewed your payment information you can simply confirm the transaction and you are ready to go, it is that easy!
