Book Review – Younger (Thinner) You Diet

November 10, 2009 by dadofdivas 1 Comment

While I have never been much of a person who has to diet, I do try to eat right to do what I can now for a better tomorrow. This book takes a different stance to dieting. Instead of focusing on the food itself, this book examines how food affects the brain.

In doing research for this review, experts state that 98% of diets usually fail. The author of this book explains how healthy living and weight loss goes beyond the stomach, beyond calorie counting, and beyond exercise.

As the book states: Weight loss occurs in the brain.  Think about it – Every process in the body is governed by the brain’s electricity, so if the electricity from the brain is slowed down, chances are that metabolism will slow, memory will fail, hearts will strain.

Dr. Braverman teaches readers how to increase this electricity in the book to help increase weight loss, reverse the aging process, and fight diseases.

I was interested to find this book both easy to use as well as a great reference guide for any person looking to live healthier. It is packed with helpful hints, recipes and valuable foods that can jump start your body.
While the book does say that exercise alone is not the key to healthy living, he does go into exercises and what they do for the body. He provides some hints about successful exercising and how that can lead to a healthier life.
A large part of the book is set aside to talk about the new way to look at dieting as mentioned earlier. Dr. Braverman shows readers sample menus, recipes, spices, etc that all can work together to get your body where it needs to be. One of the hidden gems in the book can be found on page 141 where the author gives a list of 11 spice combinations that look wonderful! I cannot wait to try some of them out!

Overall this book is a must keep for anyone looking to get their life on a healthy track. I strongly recommend you check it out today. The book can be found over at Amazon.com.
