I was reading an article the other day on MSN which stated that many men are as self conscious as women about their self image.
Thinking about this, I have to say that sure, I would love to have six-pack abs, but is that going to happen anytime soon? Well…this seems like a catch 22 to me… unless I can quit working, get a personal trainer and buff up and don’t forget get me some time alone to do it…well wait, I need to spend as much time as possible with my kids and wife… as I said a catch 22.
I have a friend who purchased one of those P90X systems, and swears by it and it has really allowed him to buff up, but the challenge for me is finding 90 minutes a day to work out…do you have that much time.
So am I conscious of my image, I guess somewhat… I want to look professional at work as well as healthy… as I said I may never have the six pack abs, but as long as I have my health and my family, that is all I need to be happy!
So the question of the day?
What about it guys…any basis for the article? How self conscious are you about your self image? Ladies, you?

Well I’d like to say I don’t think about self image at all but of course I do. I like to look pretty, to feel pretty and my self confidence has definitely been boosted since I started working out again. I’m still not super skinny but I’ve lost 10 pounds, I look better than I did and that alone has me radiating self confidence which, I think, in turn beautifies a person more.
I’m lucky if I get the chance to pee when I’m home.
Exercise?
When I mow my lawn, I jog. I have a variable speed mower that goes faster when you push harder on the handle. I call it “cardio-mow”TM. After I’m done, I burn some extra calories by washing away the 10 pounds of salt that seem to have settled in my eyes (from sweat). That’s about the extent of my weekly routine.
Seriously, I’m more concerned about feeling better and having more energy. I’m already pretty hot for a 40-year old bald guy with a big, crooked Italian nose.
Peace,
Joey

I’m very self-conscious. Doesn’t get me off my butt, though. I wonder why?
