Star Wars: The Force Awakens – The Force Runs Deep In My Family!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is available to own on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on April 5 and we celebrated with a Star Wars: The Force Awakens Movie Night!

My family loves Star Wars and the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The love of this started when I was a child. I grew up when all of the original movies were coming out and as I had my own daughters I decided to introduce them to the movies a year or so ago. We watched them in the right order, at least in my perspective, starting with A New Hope and finishing in episode 3, Revenge of the Sith. My kids loved all of the movies and as a dad I have to say that I was a very proud father to see them talking about the jedi and getting to be true fans.

After watching the six movies with me, they were very excited to watch Episode 7: Star Wars: The Force Awakens and I was too. We were so intrigued by the small snipets that were leaked out and we were one of the first to have tickets to see the movie in the theater.

When we saw it the first time we left so excited by the breathtaking cinematography in the movie and how you completely get drawn in by the entire movie. The music helped tell the story and will live on as being as iconic as music from the other movies were too.

Seeing the movie once was not enough, and we ended up going to the small local theater about a month later to see it again and it was just as good as the first time we saw it!

Now, you might say that seeing this movie twice would make us not as excited about seeing it again, but alas you would be incorrect. We actually have all been very excited for the release of Star Wars: the Force Awakens! We really wanted to look again closer for any “easter eggs” that might have been there that we missed, but also we were excited to see the Star Wars bonus features included as well.

Lucky for my family and I we received not only the movie, but a HUGE box of amazing Star Wars toys, games and more all to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. When the box arrived at my house I got the camera out and recorded the below unboxing video and as you will see in the excitement of myself and my daughter we were not only excited to receive the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie but everything else just about did us in!

We decided to have a Star Wars: The Force Awakens viewing party this past weekend and let me tell you, we pulled out all the stops. We picked up popcorn, some drinks. We donned some costumes and really had a blast reliving all of the splendor that was Star Wars” The Force Awakens.

For the kids and I this will be a movie that will be a memory-maker. It will be one that I know will last them their entire lives as it was when first experienced the Star Wars movies for myself. On top of this, the Blu-ray that I received also has hours of amazing behind the scenes interviews and features that will allow you to get inside the movie and get to know more about the characters, the actors, the music and more!

The Force Runs Deep in my family, and we are truly looking forward to the movies that will be coming in the future. For now though, we are truly enjoying watching this amazing movie and playing with the fun HASBRO toys that were sent as a part of this movie night package.

So go out and grab a copy of Star Wars: The Force Awakens today – you will not be disappointed that you did!

When I get home from work and see a box like the one you see below I am always excited and cannot wait to open it to see what is inside. As I let you all know a month or so ago, I decided to #Chooselightside when it came to the toys from HASBRO that I wanted to check out in celebration of the new Star Wars Movie that was coming out soon.

I opened the box that I received and found all of the following amazing Star Wars toys inside:

As you can probably guess, I was completely geeked about this as I am very excited about the new Star Wars movie that is coming out in only a few weeks.

Because I Chose the Light Side when it came to the Star Wars toys, I also knew that I would get more toys along the way and just the other night I received a second box and this time, before I even opened the box I did an unboxing video for all of you!

HASBRo has outdone themselves on the breadth and depth of the toys that are now available for the new Star Wars : The Force Awakens movie. If you have yet to see all of the toys, check them out at the HASBRO website, as you will get lost in the amount of fun that you can have!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer To Debut Today!

Lucasfilm announced that the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” today, Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT. The Spanish language version of the trailer will air on ESPN Deportes simultaneously.

To commence the countdown for the trailer launch, today Lucasfilm released the Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster worldwide. Following the trailer launch, tickets to the highly anticipated cinematic event will be on sale everywhere movie tickets are sold.

In conjunction with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer debut, the Walt Disney Company is providing unprecedented company-wide on-air and social support (#TheForceAwakens) as well as tying in events and special activities for the day of the trailer release.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in U.S. theaters on December 18.

Disney Infinity 3.0 Brings Star Wars To Life!

“May the Force Be With You!” Such sage words from such a little green Jedi master! As a tried and true Star Wars fan I have been excited about for some time, so I was ecstatic when the folks from Disney Interactive sent me one to try for myself just prior to all of the fun #ForceFriday events!

As I talked about before when I wrote about Star Wars Joining Disney Infinity, in this new version, you get the following:

My take on the Game!

My daughters and I tried out the system this weekend and we loved the game play, although everyone was fighting over who wanted to be Yoda at first! We found that there was a ton of great action and you can really get into the characters whether you are on a mission or in the toybox itself.

My youngest particularly liked to play in the toybox with some of the 1.0 and 2.0 characters that we have and have them interact with the Star Wars characters. Let me tell you, having the Hulk and Yoda hanging out was a bit comical, but fun, never-the-less!

In the playset itself you get a great game/mission that comes with it which is fun and for younger players takes a bit of concentration and control, but it is doable. That being said, the game will take you from alien planets to outer space and more, which makes it a ton of fun for the whole family!

There are also a ton of new vehicles and a place right in the toybox for practicing this which is great too.

We have been having a blast thus far with the interactivity of the system as well as the story in the mission too. We also really have been loving the graphics as they truly do jump off the screen and allow you to become a part of the action.

Whether you are a Star Wars fan or not, this is a great addition to the Disney Infinity universe, and actually, with the addition of the Inside Out characters along with some additional ones, you can expand into far different worlds too!

My daughters and I love Star Wars™ and we love dressing up. Over the past year I have introduced the girls to all of the Star Wars movies, and yes we watched them in the correct order, from A New Beginning to the last. We now wait in anticipation for the new movie Episode VIII to come out this December too!

I mean what father would not want to have their daughters learning from the likes of the wise green one, Yoda, or even Obi Wan and staying away from creeps like Boba Fet or even Darth Sidius (or are they just misunderstood).

Pop Secret recently sent me some of their great Pop Secret Pre-popped Popcorn, we were given the opportunity to channel The Force to join #PopWars and to show you how we or even Darth Vader and his daughter could find the ultimate snack.

However, first we decided to take a break and eat watch our favorite Star Wars™ movie, as a part of set that we have (what fan would not want this).

While we only had one of the Pop Secret Pre-Popped Popcorn bags to try ourselves, we were very excited to see that there were actually five to choose from including:

Star Wars Epic Yarns Brings The Movies To Life!

Star Wars® Epic Yarns is a new board book series for kids of all ages, that tells the story of each of the first three Star Wars movies in just 12 words and 12 iconic scenes depicted in incredibly detailed – and adorable – needle felt.

Created by twins Holman and Jack Wang, the team behind the hit Cozy Classics series, Star Wars Epic Yarns will delight Star Wars fans, geek-y crafters and fans of the cute! The Wang brothers painstakingly re-create each scene in incredible detail at a 1:7 scale, building elaborate sets and staging elaborate on-location photo shoots.

Jack and Holman grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, where Holman still lives. As well as being the creators of the Cozy Classics board books, Jack is a professor of writing at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, and Holman, a former attorney and middle school teacher, is an artist and author.

My Take on the Book

My daughter and I are HUGE Star Wars fans! I have watched all of the Star Wars movies with them and now they are asking about reading novels that have Star Wars in it too. Recently, I was asked to review the books above. When I received these I was definitely intrigued. The books were simple but thorough. On the small number of pages that were in these books, you will be shown the high points of the first three Star Wars movies all made out of felt. TYou can tell that the creators of these books are as big of Star Wars fans as I know that my girls and I are. The scenes are painstakingly created and they have chosen words that young readers can both read and understand! They were well written, and visually stunning and if you too are a Star Wars fan, you will definitely get a kick out of the books!

Creating With LEGO As A Dad of Divas!

Since I was a child I have been a fan of LEGO. I grew up with LEGO building sets and you would usually find me spending much time building space ships (they were big in the 1980’s – just watch The LEGO Movie – SPACESHIP….SPACESHIP…SPACESHIP!). These days I have been really impressed with the Star Wars sets that have been recently released by LEGO, but also the ones that will be released soon too.

You see not only have I been introducing my daughters to LEGO and having a ton of time getting down on the floor with them with my kids building so many fun things. It was so much fun not only following the instructions to actually build the Star Wars ship itself, but getting creative too and building other things as well.

That is one of the reasons I love being a #LEGODAD. Being able to be spur my kids’ imagination and allow them to get outside of the lines and make something memorable. Even for the child that likes to follow the rules, LEGO has more and more complex sets that will continue to challenge them into adulthood.

I am SO excited to continue to share my passion for LEGO & Star Wars with my daughters and with sets like this, it is only the beginning!
