Spider Man Far From Home – Fun For the Whole Family

October 1, 2019 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Spider Man Far From Home

The other day I had a ton of fun watching Spider Man Far From Home with my family. We tried out a ton of fun activities (listed below) and even made a Mysterio Cupcake. Even better though, we got to spend time together as a family and take in a great movie that really moved the story along for Spider Man. As a lifelong Spider Man fan, I have loved seeing this character come to the big screen. There have been some versions that have been better than others, but for me Tom Holland and his portrayal of Spider Man has been the best of the movie Spider Man characterizations.

I have to say that I was excited to see the first Marvel release after Endgame and I wanted to see what would happen with Peter Parker and others coming back after being gone for 5 years. After watching this movie I have to say that it blew me away. The CGI and effects were amazing and the character of Mysterio is one that you have to question as you go through the movie. I felt that the writers did a good job at encapsulating the essence of Mysterio from the comics in this movie portrayal.

The Director did a great job in this film to tie in End Game and even some connections with past Spider Man movies. I also loved seeing Peter and MJ getting closer and finally looking at the relationship that they have. (I am trying not to offer any spoilers)

Pepper Goes Nuts For a Nine Lives Movie Night #CatHomeMovieNight #NineLivesInsiders

Nine Lives Movie Night

 photo disclaimer_zpsaa1cb05b.jpg

MEOW! These humans of mine seems to always watch movies, but none of them ever seem to catch my eye. I would rather take a cat nap myself usually. It was different this weekend though. My humans were acting a bit crazier than usual, and I did not know that there was going to be some fun for my brother and I too. So my dad who calls himself the Dad of Divas told me that this movie was about a guy who gets turned into a cat to right some wrongs. Sounds like something all humans would learn from, especially my humans.

Nine Lives Movie Night

My humans always think we have it so easy, but it is not that easy to be a cat!

About Nine Lives

Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game. His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date – the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom’s workaholic lifestyle has disconnected him from his family, particularly his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and his adoring daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman).

Nine Lives Movie Night

Rebecca’s 11th birthday is here, and she wants the gift she wants every year, a cat. Tom hates cats, but he is without a gift and time is running out. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants.

Nine Lives Movie Night

En route to present his daughter with her dream pet, a bizarre turn of events finds Tom trapped inside the body of Mr. Fuzzypants. Adopted by his own family, he begins to experience what life is truly like for the family pet, and as a cat, Tom begins to see his family and his life through a new and unexpected perspective. Meanwhile, his family adjusts to life with an odd and stubborn cat, and his son David (Robbie Amell), steps up in ways Tom never expected.

Nine Lives Movie Night

If any hope exists of returning to his family as the husband and father they deserve, Tom will have to learn why he has been placed in this peculiar situation and the great lengths he must go to earn back his human existence.

Nine Lives Movie Night

Peppers’ Thoughts on the Film

As I said I usually fall asleep during movies, but this was a fun one. I loved seeing the cats ruling the roost in this movie and as I said, that guy learned his lesson by walking a few steps in a cats’ pawprints. It was not just me, but my sister and brother and even my humans seemed to like the film too. They were laughing and had smiles on their faces throughout the movie which I guess is a good sign. I tend to be a action freak and this movie delivered. I loved all of the action and even though there were some dogs (BOO) in the film. I give the film two paws up! Watch this with your family for a great night together!

Disclosure: As a Fox Home Entertainment Insider I was sent the film, information and promotional products. As always all thoughts belong to Pepper and have not been influenced!

Having A Home Best Family Movie Night Ever!

August 4, 2015 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

 photo disclaimer_zpsaa1cb05b.jpg

I was not lucky enough to see the movie HOME when it was in the theater (though the rest of my family did). However, in saying that I was very excited to see the movie, as I loved the actors who were selected in the movie and my family all raved about how funny the movie was and how I HAD to see it. That being said I was excited to be asked to have a viewing party with my family to have some fun together and get into the movie action, and I wanted to share our experience with you!

I was sent all of the above items (and more) to create the Best Family Movie Night Ever. I decided to make this a surprise, as the kids always love it when I throw something fun their way. I was particularly intrigued by the slushie makers as you do not even need to have an actual machine with these, only your freezer. If these work, I know that they will be a BIG hit!

I set up the night and sprung the movie night on the kids and they were ecstatic. We decided to have it in the evening so it was jammy time and then we got out our supplies. In making the slushies, I can tell you the slushie makers were simple to use and I am very interested to try out making milkshakes next time (among other things too)!

As part of the fun the kids also received some light up headbands which allowed them to become a Boov themselves. They loved these too. The ears on the headband changed colors constantly and the loved seeing what colors would come next. We found ourselves talking about what it would be like if our bodies changed colors when we were experiencing different emotions like the Boov did.

Snuggling down to the movie I can tell you that we had a blast. Not only because our movie night was an epic one, but because we spent it together as a family.

Home Best Family Movie Night Ever

As someone that had not seen the movie, I found it to be a ton of fun. There were some great lines and O’s character reminded me so much of Sheldon, but that could also be the actor himself. That being said, the movie was not bound by the talent though. The message in the movie itself was so important to share. Too often we forget the importance of family and spending quality time like this together. This movie reminded us that we have to cherish our friends and family and be there for them no matter what, and we cannot simply back down and run away when things get hard or scary – great lessons to learn for all of us!

To get you ready for your own Home Best Family Movie Night Ever, below are a few fun activities that you can use with your kids! (You can download all of the HOME Party Activities)
