Telltale Games Brings Minecraft: Story Mode For All Minecraft Fans!

How many of you love Minecraft? I know that for my family my kids are big fans of Minecraft. Creating worlds of their own and turning them into virtual reality has allowed them to create and bring their imagination to life.

My kids have not only played the Minecraft game, but they also have read Minecraft books and now, thanks to Telltale Games, they have had the opportunity to play the new Minecraft: Story Mode to expand their own love of the game and the Minecraft world.

is an all-new narrative-driven, episodic game series that introduces new characters and familiar themes, but is an entirely original Minecraft experience inspired by the game that continues to inspire a generation.

There’s a reason that the Minecraft: Story Mode has been a top trending game. That’s because it’s (well) awesome. It’s also capitalizing on the already infamous Minecraft, but offering even more that we (as parents) can feel good about.

The new “Story Mode” includes the block-style characters and setting that so many of us have been seeing for years. Added to that, though, the creators have developed an elaborate storyline, and problem-solving activities that offers immersive fun for gamers of all ages.

Here are just a few reasons why the game has quickly become a must-have:

It’s builds upon the Minecraft world that we already know and love (created byTelltale Games, in partnership with Mojang).
It’s an adventure story, giving us all the opportunity to “save the world” (it’s the type of inspiring story that we (as parents) want our kids to strive toward.

I like to see games that inspire the imagination, that get my kids excited to play and explore, and that further encourage the learning experience. Gameband Lets You Take MINECRAFT Everywhere! #GameOnTheGo #CollectiveBias #ad

How many of you have kids that love Minecraft? My daughter started playing MINECRAFT a few years ago (she now is 10) and while at first I did not understand what the game was all about, I loved seeing her so excited about what she was created, and they were so complex and detailed. The other nice thing was that MINECRAFT is a complete portable gaming environment so as long as she had the device that she was working on she could continue working on her worlds. The challenge, as you might expect, was that she would spend so much time creating her worlds, just to find that if she did not bring the right device with her, then she couldn’t actually play MINECRAFT with the worlds that she had created. You can probably guess that this did NOT make her very happy. This is where the Gameband came into play.

The Gameband for MINECRAFT (made by Now Computing) was a product that she was begging us for from the first moment that she learned about it. Why? Because it made it so that she could play MINECRAFT no matter where she was. As long as you have a computer with a USB port you can use this Gameband and play MINECRAFT. The Gameband brought MINECRAFT with her! Not only that, but she was able to create worlds and carry them with her as well, right on her wrist!

In asking her why she likes MINECRAFT she told me that she likes MINECRAFT because “I like building houses, trying to survive and making cool things. I really like that it is really fun to build things like roller coasters and there are a lot of things to build with so I can use my creativity to build anything that I put my mind to.”

With this in mind J-Mom and I had decided to do some early gifting this year for Diva-J, because we were going to be doing a lot of traveling this year for the holidays, and each house we are going to has computers. We also typically bring our laptop with us, too, so with all of that being said, we wanted to give Diva-J the ability to have the ability to continue creating her amazing MINECRAFT world that she is working on. So we hit the pavement looking for the Gameband. Let me tell you, this product is one of the hottest items this year, so we had to search a bit and when we finally found it I was surprised to find it at Target in the mobile gaming aisle with the two sizes available. I did have to ask one of the store experts about sizing though as I wanted to make sure that I got the right size!

Now that we were able to find the Gameband, we wrapped it up and this past weekend we gave her an early Christmas present, and I think you can tell from the above pictures that she was very happy and looking forward to jumping right into trying out the Gameband itself.

Diva-J said that she loved how the band looked, how it would glow and could be programmed with animations through PixelFurnace that were unique and personalized just by her. Wearing this made her feel “cool” as she put it, and I think it also gave her some street credibility among the boys and girls that played MINECRAFT (it is quite huge at her school right now).

She now has been using this non-stop (amid our gaming parameters though) and she is having a blast. She explored the Gameband website and found some very cool downloads through PixelFurnace that could be used to add some very cool animations to the Gameband itself. There were quite a few cool options including animals, hearts and more to choose from. Diva-J particularly loved seeing the hearts, but I think she wanted to download almost all of them to be honest.

This is a great gift for anyone that loves MINECRAFT. Whether you purchase it for a holiday gift or any other occasion, I, for one, can tell you that you will be in the good graces of these fans for a long time and the worlds that this will allow them to create and keep will continue to become even more complex and beautiful. Get ready to share in the on the MINECRAFT fun!
