This post will have a number of random thoughts…but bear with me, and I look forward to your thoughts on the topic…
Have you ever noticed how cats tend to believe that they are the rulers of their domain? We have two cats and they truly (well, especially one of them) feels that this is his home and that we are mere guests within his kingdom.
This at times can be a challenge as his constant jumping (and sleeping) on the kitchen counter gets to be a bit of a pain in the neck.
This, though makes me wonder about humans and how we take over parts of our own lives to make them out own. Are there parts of your existence where you have carved out your own kingdom?
I have seen some individuals in the past who as supervisors have done this (not always in the best way) making their employees subservient to them, and a part of their little world and kingdom. These supervisors many time lead by fear tactics or power and thus any respect that they have demanded has definitely not been earned.
Now this is a far cry away from our cats, who, by the way, are not bad for what they do, they are just territorial in their own way (I guess).
So for me in the divadom, my kingdom (or lack thereof), is one full of princesses, dress-up, crayons, and other such material objects that girls can bring…so who truly rules our kingdom…it probably would be our girls (at least right now) in the way that we cater to their needs… not to say that they are spoiled (as our cats are), but instead I feel that we allow them more free reign on their existence in the divadome to explore (within reason) and to experience (within reason).
So what about your kingdoms? Who is the ruler of the roost? How have you carved out a kingdom for yourself (if you have)?
I look forward to your comments on these random thoughts!
