One Dad's Quest to Regain Control of his Kingdom
I was recently asked by Rockport shoes to become a part of their inner circle. What this means is that over the next year I will be sporting some new shoes to try out and give you a taste of what Rockport has to offer you as a customer. For the first shoe that I was able to try as a part of this program I was given the Total Motion Moc Toe in Coach Brown.
One question that I must ask each of you is whether you are the type of person that dresses up for work? If you do, are you on your feet a lot each day? If you answered yes to both of these, answer the final question, which is How do your feet feel by the end of the day? For me, I wear dress shoes daily and I do a lot of standing and walking around. By the end of the day my feet are exhausted and so am I. This is especially true when I am at events where I am forced to stand on hard floors for long periods of time. I find myself shifting from foot to foot trying to get comfortable, but only ending up more uncomfortable in the end.
With this in mind I chose to take the #RockportChallenge and try these shoes and compare them to my sneakers. Rockport claims that their shoes are as comfortable as your sneakers are, and I have to say, in starting this challenge that this would definitely be a first for me if the shoes were this comfortable. So, let me fast forward now. I decided to wear these new shoes religiously for a few days at work. I had a number of events where I was standing and walking and I contrasted these to my sneakers on another day. I have to be blunt and say that I did not honestly notice much of a difference at all between wearing these shoes and tennis shoes they were that comfortable. At the end of the day after wearing the Rockport shoes my feet were not tired, and instead they felt well supported and in complete comfort. This was really a shock for me because I was not expecting this at all.
I also was able to select ask someone to try out the same show that I tried. This go around I asked CC Chapman (http://www.cc-chapman.com/) to give it a go and see what he thought! Below is his reaction:
“I try to wear dress shoes as little as possible. So, when I do they need to be comfortable and something I can wear all day and forget about them. I had never word Rockports before and I liked their fit and feel. These new shoes are definitely ones I won’t mind wearing in the future.” – CC Chapman
In researching Rockport Shoes more, I came to find that one of the reasons my feet were feeling as good as they were was that all Rockport shoes are equipped with ADIPRENE by adidas sport technology , making their dress shoes feel like a pair of running shoes. One of the other things that was amazing was how these shoes looked because they were definitely dress shoes, not semi-dress, but true dress. I have wished in the past that I could sneak my sneakers into work, but with the fact that I have to wear suits everyday it is an expectation to look my best which means no sneakers. With all this said, comfort is key and after wearing these Rockport shoes I have to say that they definitely deliver.
