About the Drippo Cold Brew Coffee Maker
Most cold brew coffee makers require waiting at least 12 hours, often up to 24, before a cup of coffee can be enjoyed.
Using the Dripo system is simple. A favorite ground coffee is placed in the middle coffee container. A paper filter is set on top of the grounds to aid in even water distribution during brewing. The coffee container is set into the bottom tumbler and then screwed into the top water container. Ice and cold water are added to the water container and the entire system is secured with the screw on lid. Water drips from the water container into the coffee grounds, through a stainless steel micro filter, and into the tumbler. In about two hours, the brewing process is finished and the cold brew coffee can be enjoyed. Coffee drinkers have the option of drinking their brew black, adding ice, water, or a milk product to the cold brew.
Many coffee drinkers prefer cold brew over traditional brew methods that require hot water because cold brewing methods yield a coffee that has lower acidity and a less bitter taste. Dripo makes the process of creating cold brew coffee easier and faster. The closed system eliminates the potential for the system to be knocked over and spilled. And, a cup brewed in the morning can be enjoyed by the time someone reaches their desk at work or as an afternoon pick-me-up instead of waiting until the next day or paying more at a coffee shop.
Dripo is BPA free and will brew 10 ounces of coffee per use. It is available for $34.95 now at http://www.getdripo.com.
A couple of Dripo Tips
- Cold brew takes longer to brew than conventional hot coffee, however the Dripo can whip up a fresh cup of cold brew in just a few hours (not days like other systems).
- For best flavor, after placing your favorite coffee grounds into the coffee section, lightly wet them and then place a Dripo paper filter on top (this aids in water dispersion).
Keep your Dripo dripping – if you find it’s taking longer than 2 to 2.5 hours to complete the dripping cycle, follow these tips;
- Using hot soapy water, scrub the dripping mechanism in the top water section with a stiff brush. Rinse thoroughly and you should be good to go.
- When assembling the Dripo, just lightly screw the top water section on to ensure adequate airflow. Sometimes if it is too tight, the pressure can impact functionality.
