http://www.dadofdivas.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/VID_31580528_182332_881.mp4

These toys do allow you and your child to immerse yourselves within the world of Spirit which is something that I love to allow my daughter to do. These toys really push a child to experience the on TV world in their own mind and even in their own bedroom.

My daughter was a HUGE fan of all of these toys as she loves the Netflix series too. She collects Playmobil and she was not even aware that the set that was sent to us existed. You can bet that she quickly put this set together and it looked great and is not completely connected into the Playmobil world that she has for herself.

If you are interested in any of these for yourself, check them out at the below links (I’ve added a few other toys into the mix as well:

  • Lucky and Spirit Playmobil set
  • Lucky’s Dad with Covered Wagon Playmobil Set
  • Lucky’s House Playset, Playmobil Set
  • Spirit Riding Free Just Play Toys
  • Spirit Riding Free: Abigail’s Diary

Dinotrux Exclusive 11-minute preview!

October 14, 2015 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Dinotux
I have a very special opportunity for you all courtesy of DreamWorks Animation. The studio has given me an exclusive 11-minute first episode preview of the immensely popular DINOTRUX ! This DreamWorks Animation original series is the first action show tailor-made for younger kids, and while the show is currently streaming exclusively on Netflix, you and your kids can watch, and rewatch, this 11-minute sneak peak right here! This is a very rare instance when Netflix content has been shared off the platform.
Once you’ve enjoyed this first 11-minute preview, you can continue enjoying all 10 episodes of DINOTRUX featuring Ty Rux, Revvit, their Dinotrux and Reptool friends & the villainous D-Structs, only on Netflix.

To learn more about the show, you can visit the official website at: http://www.dreamworkstv.com/shows/dinotrux/
DINOTRUX
When an erupting volcano forces Ty, an enormous Tyrannosaurus Rex combined with a megaton excavator, to flee his home valley suddenly, the tough but charismatic hero finds himself charging into an unfamiliar crater full of his favorite food: ore.
But the new landscape holds even more wondrous discoveries: other species of Dinotrux, a race of resourceful reptiles combined with hand tools called the Reptools, and a territorial bad guy with a nasty temper named D-Structs.
Ty’s first ally turns out to be a courageous, brainy Reptool named Revvit (lizard + rotary drill). Their unlikely bond leads to the creation of a community and shows how a friendship can change the world. As they meet other creatures who aren’t like them and sometimes don’t like them, they make it work. Ty leads the crew and convinces his new cratermates that they can find a way to work and live together.

Watch all ten episodes of Dinotrux Season One exclusively on Netflix!

My Interview With Manish Dayal From #100FootJourneyEvent

August 8, 2014 by dadofdivas 3 Comments

You don’t get a lot of opportunities to have the opportunity to interview a star of a movie like the Hundred Foot Journey. I was lucky enough to be able to talk with Manish Dayal after we screened the movie while in Los Angeles earlier in July. Let me tell you, he is amazingly charismatic, open, honest and kind and you can tell that he simply loved being in the movie and telling the story that it had to tell.

ManishDayal

In speaking with Manish Dayal, we came to find that he was not a classically trained actor. He mentioned that like Helen Mirren in the movie, he too, did not go to school to study acting, but was hooked at an early age after watching Jurrasic Park.

#100footjourney

Being from South Carolina originally, Manish Dayal mentioned that there really was not a lot to do in his home town, but that he watched a lot of movies and got taken away with them. This was the start of his love and journey into the movies themselves.

ManishDayal

When asked about food, and whether, like his character, he also enjoyed cooking, he mentioned that he is not a great cook, but he loved learning about it in the making of this movie. He mentioned that he felt that the movie is not really about cooking, but about culture, and about the immigrant experience that one family goes through.

ManishDayal

A poignant moment in the movie where the book and the movie intersected was the point in the movie where his character says “we’re not visitors anymore.” This line was taken directly from the book, as he felt that the script just did not capture what needed to be said. Manish said that he carried the book around with him all the time and read it 2-3 times before being completed with the 4 months of shooting the movie itself.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The most interesting things about food that Manish Dayal found was that Indian and French kitchens were more similar than he first had thought. He explained that in a French kitchen there is a way to do everything and hierarchy is respected, while in an Indian kitchen whoever is there will work together to make sure that what needs to get done gets done. In the end though both have a love and appreciation for food that cannot be denied.

In the end, Manish Dayal hopes that audiences take away the feeling that in order to achieve something great you have to go after life’s uncertainty and strive for a higher purpose. I, for one, feel that he and the rest of the cast of the Hundred Foot Journey definitely shared this message and truly sold it.

I highly recommend this movie to all! It is a must see movie!

About the Movie

In “The Hundred-Foot Journey,” Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is a culinary ingénue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. Displaced from their native India, the Kadam family, led by Papa (Om Puri), settles in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Filled with charm, it is both picturesque and elegant – the ideal place to settle down and open an Indian restaurant, Maison Mumbai. That is, until the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin-starred, classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren) gets wind of it. Her icy protests against the new Indian restaurant a hundred feet from her own escalate into a heated battle between the two establishments until Hassan’s passion for French haute cuisine — and for Madame Mallory’s enchanting sous chef, Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon) — combine with his mysteriously-delicious talent to weave magic between their two cultures and imbue Saint-Antonin with the flavors of life that even Madame Mallory cannot ignore. At first Madame Mallory’s culinary rival, she eventually recognizes Hassan’s gift as a chef and takes him under her wing.

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” abounds with flavors that burst across the tongue. A stimulating triumph over exile, blossoming with passion and heart, it is a portrayal of two worlds colliding and one young man’s drive to find the comfort of home, in every pot, wherever he may be.

Directed by Academy Award-nominee Lasse Hallström and starring Academy Award-winner Helen Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon, “The Hundred-Foot Journey” is produced by Academy Award-winner Steven Spielberg, Academy Award-nominee Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake. The executive producers are Caroline Hewitt, Carla Gardini, Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King. The screenplay is written by Academy Award-nominee Steven Knight, based on the novel “The Hundred-Foot Journey” by Richard C. Morais.

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” will be released in theaters on August 8, 2014.

The Croods Bluay Movie #Giveaway #TheCroodsDVD

September 21, 2013 by dadofdivas 1 Comment

The Croods
 photo disclaimer_zpsaa1cb05b.jpg

The relationship between a father and his daughter is a very precious thing. Some of the most touching scenes from movie history are the loving moments between dads and daughters. In The Croods, we watched as Eep and Grug slowly come to realize how much they truly love each other. Take a look at five of the most memorable dad and daughter moments in movie history.

Join the Croods on the journey of a lifetime in the epic comedy-adventure that “has the magical wonder of How To Train Your Dragon” – Jake Hamilton (Fox-TV). When their cave is destroyed, the Croods set out to explore a spectacular landscape filled with fantastic creatures, strange surprises…and a whole new world of adventure!

Eep and Grug – The Croods

Teenagers always go through that phase of life where they feel that they are being smothered by their parents. Eep is definitely feeling these emotions when her over-protective dad keeps her under tight boundaries.  But it turned out that Eep and Grug were more alike than they realized. Eep’s heart is broken when she thinks she lost her opportunity to tell her dad how much she loves him. In a very memorable moment, Eep and Grug are reunited and our hearts melt as we watch them embrace in a great big word that rhymes with Grug… a hug!

Charlie & Bella Swan – The Twilight Saga

Throughout the Twilight saga, there are multiple adorably awkward father-daughter moments shared between Charlie and Bella. Charlie may not always know exactly what he is doing, but there is no denying that he is an excellent father! Our favorite Charlie and Bella memory is the day of the wedding. Before heading off on her honeymoon, Charlie tells Bella how much she means to him and the two share a meaningful moment.

Bryan and Kim Mills – Taken

Every girl wants a father who makes them feel safe and is willing to protect them from any kind of harm that comes their way. Bryan Mills represents the ultimate dad in Taken and Taken 2 as he takes down anyone who comes between him and his daughter. Kim is lucky to have such a fierce father figure in her life and their relationship benefits from the difficult situation that she faces.

George & Annie Banks – Father of the Bride

In Father of the Bride, George might be having a hard time giving up his little girl, but in the end he accepts the wedding as a reality and the two have a major bonding moment.  On the night before her wedding, Annie and George play basketball in the driveway and hundreds of female viewers thought back to the times they played sports with their dad as a kid.

Graham, Sophie, and Olivia – The Holiday

Being a single dad and raising two daughters is no easy task. In The Holiday, Graham seems to be one of the greatest single parents we’ve ever seen. From being Mr. Napkin Head with his two adorable daughters to building a dreamy tent with fluffy pillows and hand-cut stars, Graham goes the extra step to make sure Sophie and Olivia have a great childhood. We love the moment when we find out that the father and his daughters call themselves “the three musketeers.”
