Star Wars The Force Awakens Opens Up The Disney Infinity Universe!

As many of you know I have been a fan of Disney Infinity for some time. I love the creativity that it allows for players, especially in the toybox and with all of the characters that they have been releasing the world keeps growing and growing. On top of this though, lately with the release of the new playset as well as the , you are given the ability to live in a world far far away and through the games that they have created, you can have a blast with characters that you have come to know and love.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 platform has expanded the ability of the system to be able to bring on, not only these Star Wars characters, but also as I have written about in the past, Inside Out, and Good Dinosaur characters too!

In the newest Star Wars release, I have loved controlling the characters from Star Wars The Force Awakens, but beyond that, I am loving the game itself. You get to fly spaceships, as well as fight storm troopers and more. What could be better for a Star Wars fan? Well, what about creating your own worlds in the toolbox to coordinate with your love of the Star Wars universe!

My daughters and I have loved to play with these characters as well as the games within and if you are a Star Wars fan you will too!

The Good Dinosaur Comes to Disney Infinity!

I have been excited to bring home from The Good Dinosaur to my Disney Infinity set ever since I first saw it while I was at Pixar Studios in September.

Recently the great folks from Disney Infinity sent me the new Spot character and the power disks for me to try and tell you about. I also found the following two videos that I think will change the way that you see this game in general.

As you can see in the above videos, you truly get to take control of Spot, but also interact with Arlo and other characters too. By allowing this, Disney Infinity has changed the way others have and will see the relationship between Spot and Arlo.

Inside Out Comes To Disney Infinity!

As all of you know my kids and I are BIG fans. We love making worlds in the toybox and exploring the worlds and games that have been set up by the great people at Disney too. As fans of this, we have been very excited about the release of the Star Wars themed Disney Infinity sets in the 3.0 launch, but even moreso, we were excited about the addition of too.

Recently I was sent the Inside Out Disney Infinity characters to try out with my daughters and I have to say that they did an amazing job first at capturing the essence of the characters in the figurines. Beyond this though, the inside out characters and games that were included were so much fun to play as a family. The game is fun,colorful and a great game that you could play with friends or by yourself!

The Inside out set was funny and age appropriate for our youngest child (age 7). The majority of game play is done in the toy box hub or toy box creations sections of the game.

You really get to control the game and the characters and no matter who your favorite character is, you truly can take control and get into the mind of the emotions that you want to control yourself!

So get into Inside Out in a whole new way with Disney Infinity Inside Out characters!

Disney Infinity 3.0 Brings Star Wars To Life!

“May the Force Be With You!” Such sage words from such a little green Jedi master! As a tried and true Star Wars fan I have been excited about for some time, so I was ecstatic when the folks from Disney Interactive sent me one to try for myself just prior to all of the fun #ForceFriday events!

As I talked about before when I wrote about Star Wars Joining Disney Infinity, in this new version, you get the following:

Three Star Wars Play Sets, one set in the timeline of Episodes I-III, the second set during the original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI, and the third available this winter based on Star Wars™: The Force Awakens™
Additional Play Sets offering distinct gameplay and environments, including a Disney•Pixar Play Set based on the upcoming film Inside Out, and a Marvel Play Set featuring Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and other Marvel characters
A fully enhanced Toy Box with two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games, Toy Box Speedway (kart racing) and Toy Box Takeover (action-adventure)

The Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack will include the Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Base and video game software, the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker character figures, and a web code card that unlocks content for PC and mobile devices. Other Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Play Sets, figures, and Toy Box Expansion Games will be sold separately.

All figures and Power Discs from the 1.0 and 2.0 editions of Disney Infinity will be compatible with Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition in the enhanced Toy Box and, for the first time, Power Discs will be sold in labeled franchise-specific packs of four. My take on the Game!

My daughters and I tried out the system this weekend and we loved the game play, although everyone was fighting over who wanted to be Yoda at first! We found that there was a ton of great action and you can really get into the characters whether you are on a mission or in the toybox itself.

My youngest particularly liked to play in the toybox with some of the 1.0 and 2.0 characters that we have and have them interact with the Star Wars characters. Let me tell you, having the Hulk and Yoda hanging out was a bit comical, but fun, never-the-less!

In the playset itself you get a great game/mission that comes with it which is fun and for younger players takes a bit of concentration and control, but it is doable. That being said, the game will take you from alien planets to outer space and more, which makes it a ton of fun for the whole family!

There are also a ton of new vehicles and a place right in the toybox for practicing this which is great too.

We have been having a blast thus far with the interactivity of the system as well as the story in the mission too. We also really have been loving the graphics as they truly do jump off the screen and allow you to become a part of the action.

Whether you are a Star Wars fan or not, this is a great addition to the Disney Infinity universe, and actually, with the addition of the Inside Out characters along with some additional ones, you can expand into far different worlds too!

Disney Interactive today announced that the Star Wars™ universe will join Disney, Disney•Pixar and Marvel in 3.0 Edition – the latest installment of the best-selling “hybrid toy / video game” of 2014. The Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack will be available this fall at a suggested retail price of $64.99, and Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition promises to deliver kids and families with a wider breadth of content and variety of gameplay than ever offered from Disney Infinity, including:

Disney Infinity Extra Life Family Fun Day

Today, Disney Infinity is calling upon its community of fans, players and employees to help their local children’s hospitals through Extra Life, a national video game event benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

To join the Extra Life movement, we’re hosting a fall Family Fun Day at the Disney Interactive offices in Glendale, CA on Saturday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Families will be able to play Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) including the all new Disney Originals characters (launching Nov. 4), try out their Disney Infinity character Halloween costumes, interact with game producers and developers, and take part in activities to support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Avengers, Guardians & More Assemble on Disney Infinity 2.0 Is Here! #dadchat

I am a HUGE fan of Disney Infinity. This probably started because I am a HUGE fan of Disney itself. I grew up on Disney and have shared this love for the mouse and the company with my own girls since they were young. When I first was introduced to Disney Infinity 1.0 I had to try it and I shared this experience with all of you in a post written last February.

This spring I was excited to watch the unveiling of the next phase of Disney Infinity. There had been a lot of speculation about what this might be, and y guess was Marvel Superheroes, and I was correct! This was awesome, in my humble opinion, as I am a big Marvel fan and have been since I was a kid, so combining my love of Disney with Marvel was a match made in heaven. I patiently waited….and waited….and waited and was lucky enough a few weeks ago to come home to find a very large box on my doorstep. Once I opened the box my mouth hit the floor as I was completely in awe of the full array of super heroes that were in front of me! I could not wait to jump into this and try out each and every character, both heroes and villains alike!

First of these characters were so well constructed, with beautiful color and construction. As a fan of these characters, you can tell that the developers either were fans of these characters or really used the artwork from comics to create the characters themselves. As you can see in the images here, the characters themselves are amazing and so lifelike. That being said, I have to say that the game is definitely not just the characters, it is MUCH more than that, so let’s get into that too!

One of the things that I SO appreciated about Disney Infinity 2.0 is that the developers realized the need to allow the figurines from their 1.0 version release to work with this version. So many people would have been VERY upset if they would have had to have started all over again and it was nice to know that the characters that we had collected as a family up to now would still work.

The gameplay of the system itself was awesome. One of the things I loved were how the characters’ powers were interconnected with the gameplay itself. Also, the ability of the characters to cross stories and interact with other heroes was something that was amazing as you do not get to have this type of cross-over always in comics and being able to control the characters and what is happening is even better. I also enjoyed that through the collection of points I could upgrade my characters to have and use other special abilities/powers. While I have yet to max out my characters at level 20, I am working on it character by character and with every step I get better and better also in getting used to the characters and their abilities!

The gameplay is also authentic, and you truly get to feel like the actual comic/movie character that you are controlling. I loved being able to “be” Rocket Raccoon or Spiderman along with all of the other characters and so did my kids!

There are also a ton of new power discs with this set that will allow you to not only manipulate the environment, but also the vehicles and powers of the characters themselves.

On top of all of this the new Toy Box Toys were great and interactive and allowed players of all ages (my kids included) in creating some very cool games. One of the things my eldest daughter seems to love these days is the text creator which allows you to be able to add in text bubbles in the toy box. For me, as a parent, I love that there is a safety feature included in this to keep the language friendly and clean! The other thing that my daughter loved was the ability to create rooms with themes, decorating them in many ways with the furniture that was included in the toy box itself. Also, the furniture available was all connected to either Disney or Marvel in some way which brought back a lot of memories for me! The final thing about the toy boy and the system that I will mention is that there is so much more memory now to be able to save toy boxes. You can save up to 300 toy boxes in your own cloud, so you can be as creative as you want, making multiple environments that you can keep going back to over and over again!

All-in-all I love this new system and I am looking forward to seeing what Disney Interactive has next in store for us, as they have indicated that this is only the beginning… so what do you think might be next? Star Wars? More Marvel Characters? There are so many options to choose from! I highly encourage all to check this system out. You will not be disappointed!

Disney Infinity Brings The Whole Family Together

My family are HUGE Disney fans. With that in mind since Disney Infinity came out I have been wanting to try it. Being a fan of video games and seeing that I had the opportunity to try other systems with interchangeable players in the past, this looked like it would be a ton of fun. Also, having the ability to change out the characters into Disney characters that you know and love was something that not only I was excited about, but my kids were about jumping out of their boots to be Jessie or Anna.

Thus, I was very grateful to Disney Interactive for sending me a system to try out with my family for my Nintendo WII U. They sent us the starter pack as well as the brand new Rapunzel character. First and foremost I was thankful that the starter pack came with three characters. You get the opportunity to be able to be Sully, Mr. Incredible or Jack Sparrow.

The system was easy to set up and we were soon into the game itself. I liked the fact that each of the characters had separate adventures that came with them and that you could build each of them up to make the character even stronger. My girls are loving Rapunzel’s adventure and have played it over and over again trying to get as many of the lanterns as they can.

Of course you can’t stop with only those characters, so we ended up using a gift card to go out and get a few more characters including, Wreck it Ralph, Anna, Sorcerer Mickey and Woody, so I think we can say that we are now committed to the system and to the game itself.

My girls also enjoyed building their own world. I found that at times it was a bit hard to see where pieces were going and at times you had to have some trial and error to get rid of the pieces you placed to get them in the right place, but that being said, they still loved making the world themselves!

The game itself is very engaging and you can definitely lose yourself in the time that you are playing. The only thing that I wished was that you could have 3-4 players playing at the same time so then I could play with both my daughters at the same time. That being said though it still was a ton of fun and we all had a blast with the games and swapping out the players every now and again to try new things.

All-in-all I have to say that I was impressed with the system and am looking forward to continuing using this with my girls into the future!
