My Take on The Season

This was a great follow-up to season one. I loved the arc and the villains that are in this season. On top of this, you get to see some of the main characters struggling with some big things which made the characters even more relatable. I felt that the season did a good job of bringing the season to a close while still leaving us on pins and needles with what might come next with the new villains that are coming and old friends finding powers that might turn them evil. The end of this season really made me question what will come in season three, but I am really looking forward to seeing what comes next!

You also get to know his sons and see how they have to struggle to find themselves as they learn the truth about their father. The challenge of course is you throw in a son that has to learn about powers while dealing with other issues, as well as a big bad that is trying to destroy the way of life around Superman’s family and you get a series that will keep you on the edge of your seat from episode one to episode fifteen. Game Review: DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power

June 28, 2021 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power

About the game

Suit up as the DC Super Hero Girls and save Metropolis!

In DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power you get to join the fight as Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl from the animated series DC Super Hero Girls, and save Metropolis from the tinkering terror of Toyman! With the city in danger, even frenemies like Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Star Sapphire will need to band together to help protect the town. Each Super Hero and Super-Villain has a unique set of abilities: for example, Wonder Woman uses her warrior skills with the Lasso of Truth and Flying Shield while Harley Quinn wields her Pop Roulette blaster that fires off mischievous effects to do both a little good and a little bad at the same time.

Freely explore the city as teenagers

Explore Metropolis as your alter ego: a high school teenager. Take on missions to help out local citizens, put a stop to graffiti in the town, save lost cats, and much more. You can even rebuild the mysterious Hob’s Bay, customizing new buildings to reimagine the area totally in your style. And don’t forget to meet up at the best hangout spots from the show like Metropolis High School and Sweet Justice…both of which happen to be perfect places to snap photos to share on Superstapost.
Power up your super squad

Choose which Super Heroes and Super-Villains you want to recruit for your crime-fighting team, taking on exciting battles and missions throughout the city. Each character can unlock new abilities as you play, so always level up and pick your favorites as the battle rages on. Plus, make sure you dress for the part because you can shop around for upgrades to the latest crime-fighting suits in addition to the most fabulous Superstapost-ready outfits.

Other features

  • Team up with the playable Super-Villains Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Star Sapphire
  • Save Metropolis with each Super Hero or Super-Villain’s unique abilities by defeating the tinkering terror of Toyman
  • Explore the city like a hero or a regular teenager and visit iconic hangout spots from the show. Metropolis High School and Sweet Justice: here we come! But be careful not to reveal your secret identity
  • Build up Hob’s Bay, an abandoned part of Metropolis, and put your own stamp on its fresh new look

Check out these game images

My Take on the game

I played this for a few hours and found that the game was a lot of fun. You get a good story mixed in with characters you have grown to know and love from the DC Super Hero Girls franchise. There are numerous tasks that you will have to do with different Supers. Some of the tasks are easier than others and some may take you a few tries to get it right, or at least it did for me. You get to flip between RPG mode and a photography mode which allows you to take a break every now and again. You also get some foreshadowing as you will find that both the heroes and villains are at the same school, even though they may not realize it at first. As you move through the game the levels are challenging and each monster or other challenge is different, so you will find that you will stay challenged throughout the game. One of the things that I liked is that the game is fully voiced and even minor characters have a voice. This is a nice touch as not all games offer this. You will find that you can start to build out your world, but then you have to protect what you have built. There are mini games that are fun and you can take pictures and share them on the equivalent of social media in their world. Overall, the game is a ton of fun, and whether you are a DC Super Hero Girls fan or not, it is a fun game for the whole family!

Grab a copy for yourself on Amazon!

Marvel Movies Your Kids Need To Watch This Spring

April 27, 2021 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Marvel ComicsImage by Ralph Leonard Poon from Pixabay

As a parent, one of the biggest challenges you face is entertaining the kids while they are at home. From giving them books to read, a craft table to play with, or bringing them to the park for football – there are many choices you can make but many of them involve active involvement.

If you are looking for a way to keep the kids entertained while you do other things around the house this week – TV is a great idea. There are various types of gadgets your kids can enjoy throughout the day but TV is always a great way to keep them calm and out of trouble while you do things around the house.

Today we want to talk specifically about Marvel Movies and the MCU. If your child has never seen a Marvel movie before – we have some great choices to start them off with that will introduce them to key characters, teach them important moral lessons, and provide them with entertainment.

Avengers Assemble

The first film you should get your children to watch this spring is Avengers Assemble which came out in 2012. This is the first team-up for the titular team and will allow your children to get to know some of the best superheroes around in a fun story that has many layers. This movie features Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow and is a brilliant action and adventure film all around.

Iron Man

Iron Man is a film that came out in 2008 and is the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man, or Tony Stark, is a selfish billionaire who learns throughout the film how to become a hero and put others first. There is some amazing action in this film as well as humor making it a perfect choice for the kids at the weekend.

Captain America: Civil War

Steve Rogers is perhaps the most stereotypical hero in the whole MCU. His courage and good heart make him the perfect role model for your kids. This third installment in his trilogy features the biggest cast of superheroes before Infinity War and it also introduces the world to Spider-Man and Black Panther for the first time. You child will love the epic airport battle as well as seeing all of their favorite heroes interacting together for the first time.

Ant-Man

Ant-Man might have a silly name but this film is not only funny but also an example of a brilliant heist movie. Your kids will love the playful way that Paul Rudd portrays Scott Lang and you’ll be able to see some hilarious action sequences including a giant Thomas the Tank Engine toy. It is a great movie to watch for a laugh as well as a relatable superhero that shows anyone is capable of greatness if they just work for it and believe.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its epic films as well as the intricate plot that weaves through every film. But as well as this, each hero has a story, and lessons are learned throughout that your children can also learn positively from.

Movie Review – Teen Titans Go! to the Movies

November 6, 2018 by dadofdivas 1 Comment

Teen Titans GO! to the Movies 3D

When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” finds our egocentric, wildly satirical superheroes in their first feature film extravaganza—a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers. Get ready to LOL when “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital.

The first-ever big-screen version of DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network’s animated TV show stars Greg Cipes (TV’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as Beast Boy, Scott Menville (TV’s “Spider-Man”) as Robin, Khary Payton (TV’s “The Walking Dead”) as Cyborg, Tara Strong (the “My Little Pony” franchise) as Raven, and Hynden Walch (TV’s “Adventure Time with Finn & Jake”) as Starfire, reprising their roles from the series. Will Arnett (“The LEGO® Batman Movie”) and Kristen Bell (“Frozen”) also lend their voices as the evil Slade and Hollywood director Jade Wilson.

Peter Rida Michail and Aaron Horvath directed the film from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, which is based on characters from DC. Horvath, Jelenic, Peggy Regan, Michail and Arnett produced the film with Sam Register serving as executive producer. The music is by Jared Faber. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

“Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack for $35.99 and DVD for $28.98. My Take on the Movie

I had watched many of the other Teen Titan cartoons in the past and as a comic fan and fan of the comic Teen Titans too. While the cartoon became quite a bit different than the comic. It brought in comedy and you get to see the Teen Titans in a way that was similar and a bit different than the original series.

This movie explores why the Titans and in specific, Robin, can’t get a movie made about him. The Titans realize that they need an archnemesis to be more popular. They get a chance to find popularity as they go up against Slade (a character that reminds me a bit of Deadpool). Slade quickly sees how inept the Teen Titans are and he takes advantage of this. The movie shows the Teen Titans as a bit of a joke and kind of anti-heroes.

Robin’s single focus is a bit of an issue as he leaves his friends, endangers others and more. By doing this he runs afoul of some of the major super heroes alsong with his friends too.

This movie was definitely funny and I will also complement the music as well.

Despite its silly plot, and the random feel of the movie, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is a fun way to spend an hour an half. If you loved the Teen Titans cartoon from the past you will lov at a movie theater. It isn’t a masterpiece, but boy was it fun watching the Titans get into hilariously, stupid situations. Fans of comic book movies will love the homage this movie pays to the films of the genre, but casual viewers may find this movie super silly and totally illogical.
