December 13, 2020 by dadofdivas 1 Comment

Hocus Pocus Game

In Hocus Pocus: The Game…

The Black Flame Candle has been lit.
Now the Sanderson witches you must outwit;
Or with a wretched evil potion,
A foul spell they’ll set in motion.
Stun the witches and ruin the brew
Before the sun can rise anew!

Work together to stop the Sanderson sisters from draining the lives of Salem’s children by ruining their potion before the sun rises!

About the Game

  • A Bunch of Hocus Pocus – In this cooperative card game, players work together to protect Salem’s children and stop the Sanderson sisters from completing their wicked potion before the sun rises. Play potion ingredients to the cauldron and match all the colors or ingredients. Binx will offer a helping hand, while Winifred, Mary, and Sarah cast spells to thwart your plans. Use tricks like Burning Rain of Death and Billy Butcherson to help you along the way!
  • Perfect for Families and Hocus Pocus Fans – Whether you’re playing with a group of Hocus Pocus fans, classic board gamers, or your family, Disney Hocus Pocus: The Game is perfect for any game night occasion and makes a great gift for Hocus Pocus fans!
  • Great Replay Value – Disney Hocus Pocus: The Game plays 2-6 players ages 8 and up and takes approximately 30 minutes to play.
  • What You Get – Each game comes with one cauldron board, 50 Ingredient cards, a Witch board, 13 Spell cards, a Sun token, 4 trick tokens, a rulebook, and one black cat Binx meeple.
  • Clear Instructions – Learn to play with a clear, high-quality, step-by-step rulebook.

My Take on the Game

This game was a game we were excited to play because we loved the Hocus Pocus movie. At first when you play the game is a bit complicated, but as I played it, I found that the game was fun to play and easy to learn, it says it is for ages 8 and up, my 13 & 16 year old had no trouble grasping it after a few plays! It also took us about 20 minutes to play which was just right. You do have to work together in the game which is great for kids as well since everyone is working together to beat the witches. If you are a fan of the movie this game is for you.

You can find this game on Amazon

Holiday Gift Guide – CuBirds

December 10, 2020 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

cubirds

About the Game

CuBirds is a fantastic new trick-taking game for 2-5 players that plays in 20 minutes!

Players begin each round of CuBirds with bird cards in hand and a mixed flock of birds in the center of the table from which to choose from. Draw cards, build your flock, and play the series of identical birds (your flock) from your hand forming your scoring area.

Your goal is to be the first player to gather 1 of each different species or two species with at least three identical birds in each. Each bird comes with one small flock or 1 large flock score, so you can hold out for a larger flock to score even more! Beware, though, as the round ends when a player empties their hand, forcing all players to discard their hands and plans!

  • Ages 8+, 2-5 players, plays in 20′
  • High quality product with beautiful artwork!
  • Easy to learn and easy to play!
  • Two ways to play!

My Take on the Game

If you love solving puzzles as well as collecting and making sets in a card game, CuBirds is a great game that you will want to try for yourself!

As you sit down to play this fun game, you will find that it will keep you busy for about 20 minutes, but I found that I would many times keep playing more as the game is a ton of fun!

The concept of the game is that you wok to collect different species of birds, aiming to gather two flocks of the same three birds or seven different birds to win the game.

As you play you will find that as you play you will get the opportunity to interact with all of the myriad of different cards that come up in the middle of your table. These cards change as players add extra birds and also take some away.

The rounds are fast, but there is also strategy that needs to happen so that you can get the cards you need to win.

The rules of the game are easy to understand and the game is a ton of fun for the whole family!

While CuBirds is a shorter game, you will enjoy every minute of it!

Runes & Regulations

About the Game

Unstable Unicorns and Runes & Regulations are the latest addictively fun card games to come from TeeTurtle founder Ramy Badie. His goal? To create games that establish meaningful connections by getting people to put away their phones and devote their time to the people (and games) that matter.

  • A game of Suburban sorcery
  • Immerse yourself in this world of magic and the mundane by summoning Mythical pets and casting powerful spells, all within the comfort of your own home.
  • Collect 5 Mythical creatures on your lawn to win!
  • 2-4 players
  • Includes: 134 cards, 15 tokens, 4 fences, 1 spinner, and rulebook.

Runes and Regulations

My Take on the Game

This is a very fun game. It is geared for adults and teens and gives you hours of game play. You can play with 2-4 players. If you loved Unstable Unicorns you will also love this game. While this one does not have unicorns, you will find dragons and magical powers that bring even more power than in the other game. As we played this we had a ton of laughs and fun together. I was worried that the rules would be hard to follow but I found that it the written rules were actually easy to follow. I tried this with two people but found that playing this with 4 is much more fun. This is especially true as you have to scheme and practice your backstabbing toward other players. This was a ton of fun!

If this sounds like the game for you check it out on Amazon

Game Review – Dare for the Truth Family Card Game

July 4, 2017 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Dare To Tell The Truth Family Card Game photo disclaimer_zpsaa1cb05b.jpg

I am always looking for a great card game to play with the family, and the Dare for the Truth Family Card Game was a game that allowed us to really have a ton of fun as a family. The game allowed you to break down barriers and just be free to have fun. We loved that one of the rules was that whatever happens in the game stays in the game.

About the Game

In Dare for the Truth you get a fun mix of the classic ‘truth-or-dare’ and ‘spin-the-bottle’ – spin the bottle to choose who will perform the truth or dare! Includes 40 cards with family-themed truths/dares and instructions in a bottle container.

@Redakai Card Game Offers Fun Strategic Game Play As Well as Amazing 3D Graphics #Giveaway #Win

November 22, 2011 by dadofdivas

About the Game

This is the REDAKAI universe, where good and evil are locked in an intense struggle for the same mysterious energy force: Kairu. In the hands of good, Kairu is a living force that guides the universe. But in the hands of evil, Kairu can be a destructive force unlike anything else. Those who learn to wield this energy become Kairu Warriors, and they aspire to join the ranks of the most powerful Kairu masters: The Redakai.

Many years ago, a great battle took place between two powerful Redakai masters, Boaddai and Lokar — a battle that would forever change the fate of the universe. Known today as the Great Cataclysm, the event resulted in the destruction of the planet Nevrod and the scattering of Kairu energy across Earth.

The Redakai of Earth have assigned their most promising warriors to find and collect Kairu energy. Their greatest challenge remains the villainous Lokar, who has assembled his own teams of warriors to find the Kairu before the Redakai. With the fate of the universe at stake, good and evil are put to the ultimate test.

THE GAME

Redakai: Conquer the Kairu has truly revolutionized the game industry, thanks to its Blast3D™ technology and stackable gameplay! You may have heard the buzz, but might be a bit confused about where to start.

Redakai X-Drives – collectible cards featuring 3D monsters and animated attacks – are definitely a sight to behold! But aside from the Blast3D™ technology, Redakai features an excellent game design that is very easy to learn, but gives players the chance to build their own decks and show off their own skills.

Redakai products can be found at your local hobby or retail store. Some products, like the Championship Set come with a helpful rulebook, but we have some great tutorials online as well.

To start, you’ll want to click here to download the tutorials for the Basic Game, or the Advanced Game. For a little more info, here’s a breakdown:
Basic Game

Just about anyone can play the Basic Game, which is very easy to learn. Each player just needs one pack, and you’re ready to go!

Click here to see more about the Basic Game!
Advanced Game

If you’ve played through the Basic Game a bit, or you’re an experienced trading card game player, you’re ready for the Advanced Game!

In the Advanced Game, players gain Kairu, which they can spend to play attack cards to damage opposing characters, and monsters to boost their own. As the game goes on, players are able to play bigger attacks and more powerful monsters!

Each player must have their own deck with at least 40 attacks and monsters, and three characters. Luckily, the Championship Tin comes with exactly this number of cards, giving you everything needed to battle! It also comes with helpful play accessories, so we highly recommend getting this product to start your Redakai collection.

You can also purchase a Structured Deck, which comes ready to go with a specific strategy – there’s one for each of the four teams in Redakai. After you’ve played with your initial Structured Deck or Championship Tin cards, you can add Power Packs and Gold Packs to your decks to make them more powerful!
Click here to see more about the Advanced Game!
