My Take on the Game

My daughters love Just Dance games and as a father I have to say that I love hearing them giggle and laugh as they are “busting a move.” Especially during this pandemic while we are confined inside, this game allows my kids the ability to keep active and moving while they dance to some of their favorite songs. The songs are a great mix of genres, and you will find that there is a great mix of choreography that will challenge your kids in many different ways. I have even jumped in, and even though this dad does not have the most fluid movements, I got in there with the best of them.

In the game you will find a great mix of moves from hip-hop, modern, Zumba, etc. and while I did not know all of the songs, my daughters did and they loved hearing them! You will also get a nice workout from the game, so get ready to get your move on!

So whether you like Harry Styles or Eminem, you will love this game!

This holiday season, get your dance on with Just Dance 2021.

Holiday Gift Guide – CuBirds

About the Game

CuBirds is a fantastic new trick-taking game for 2-5 players that plays in 20 minutes!

Players begin each round of CuBirds with bird cards in hand and a mixed flock of birds in the center of the table from which to choose from. Draw cards, build your flock, and play the series of identical birds (your flock) from your hand forming your scoring area.

Your goal is to be the first player to gather 1 of each different species or two species with at least three identical birds in each. Each bird comes with one small flock or 1 large flock score, so you can hold out for a larger flock to score even more! Beware, though, as the round ends when a player empties their hand, forcing all players to discard their hands and plans!

  • Ages 8+, 2-5 players, plays in 20′
  • High quality product with beautiful artwork!
  • Easy to learn and easy to play!
  • Two ways to play!

My Take on the Game

If you love solving puzzles as well as collecting and making sets in a card game, CuBirds is a great game that you will want to try for yourself!

As you sit down to play this fun game, you will find that it will keep you busy for about 20 minutes, but I found that I would many times keep playing more as the game is a ton of fun!

The concept of the game is that you wok to collect different species of birds, aiming to gather two flocks of the same three birds or seven different birds to win the game.

As you play you will find that as you play you will get the opportunity to interact with all of the myriad of different cards that come up in the middle of your table. These cards change as players add extra birds and also take some away.

The rounds are fast, but there is also strategy that needs to happen so that you can get the cards you need to win.

The rules of the game are easy to understand and the game is a ton of fun for the whole family!

While CuBirds is a shorter game, you will enjoy every minute of it!

December 7, 2020 by dadofdivas Leave a Comment

Lokai Bracelets

If you and your family are Disney, Marvel or Star Wars fans Lokai bracelets are the perfect gift this holiday season!

Each bracelet in the Disney Collection by Lokai is infused with elements from the highest and lowest points on Earth: water from Mt Everest and mud from the Dead Sea. These extreme elements remind you to find balance – staying humble during life’s highs and hopeful through its lows; wishes can come true! Wear your heart on your sleeve with your favorite classic Disney and Pixar Lokai bracelets. Friends encourage friends to Dream BIG, Wish often, and always have Courage.

The bracelets represent some of your favorite characters from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars and offer you a great way to stay connected to your favorite movies and characters.

The bracelets are very comfortable and definitely are bracelets that my daughters love. They are HUGE Disney fans and their bracelets are ones they are already wearing and showing all of their friends.

Even better, for each Lokai sold, Lokai will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish® to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.

If you are looking for some amazing gifts to give to your own family or friends, check out all of the Lokai bracelets that you have available!

  • This 153-piece STEM toy offers a screen-free activity that fosters problem solving, creativity and experimentation for kids ages 8 and up
  • Design, build and race the marbles through your own obstacle course tracks and use gravity, magnetism, and kinetics to propel them to the finish

My Take on the Set

As a child, I played with Marbleworks a lot. This changeable winding path of plastic tubes lead to many hours of enjoyment for my siblings and I. Gravitrax reminded me of those times, not only with its marble-based design, but the Rube Goldberg aspects as well.

There was a lot more than just paths for the marbles to go along. Trampolines, ziplines, a magnetic launcher, foldable paths, spiral paths and even the starting tile was interesting. In order to start, put the marbles into a three-branched block and press down. This releases the balls and allows them to complete the course. I didn’t experiment too much with it after doing all of the included structures, but I assume it would be incredibly fun if I had more time to do so. It was fun to set up and watch the marble roll through the maze of tiles. The hexagonal tiles fit together well and the bridges come in various sizes to cross most gaps.

I had a few issues when setting up and running some of the courses. The blocks that held up the pieces often didn’t stick as well as I wanted to sometimes, but I only rarely had problems when setting them up. The base plane also didn’t stay together the best, but this was most likely a problem because I built on carpet. Fair warning, do use this product on a hard surface for the best results.

Unfortunately, I feel as though I missed the time period where I would use this a ton. Eight or Ten year-old me would have a blast with this thing. The best age for this sort of thing is Eight to about Twelve, I would guess. Even though I fall out of the range described, I still had a ton of fun with it and I definitely will try experimenting wherever I can.
