Alpha is an epic coming-of-age adventure set in the last Ice Age. A young boy becomes unlikely allies with a lone wolf, enduring countless dangers and overwhelming odds to survive the harsh wilderness and find their way home before the deadly winter arrives.
I did not see this movie in the theater but I could tell that it would be a movie that I would enjoy and thanks to the great folks at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, I was able to see the movie and judge for myself whether I liked it or not.
Before I give you my review of Alpha, I also have to talk about the gift pack that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment sent to me. Below is a video that I created on Facebook talking about the gift pack.
We loved being able to adopt a wolf with this campaign. We were even able to see her on YouTube based on her Lazy Howl!
My take on the Movie
This movie was great. It is filled with action and adventure. I was not expecting the subtitles in the movie, but once I got used to them I have to say that I appreciated that they stayed true to the fact that English was not spoken in this time and era. The movie is definitely a story that shows the strength of characters and what they had to do to survive. The movie was beautifully made and beyond the acting, the cinematography itself was just breathtaking. Even with only few words the movie tears at your heartstrings and you have to watch and see how the movie ends as it is worth the watch!
