As I work full time I find that it is not always easy to stay on top of the issues of balancing parenthood and employment. There are definite times when I am pulled away from my family be be gone early in the morning and working until late in the evening and even other times when I have to fly to attend conferences or visit other places. This is hard on me and hard on them!
One way in which I try and stay connected with them is through bringing a family Bear along with me on my trip. Just like a flat Stanley that one may have, this bear goes on his own adventures while on trips and of course where ever bear may go, it is important for me to document this and preserve it for my daughters and my wife to see (as they are always looking for these pictures and videos once I get back).
I usually use a mixture of film and video to explore Bear’s adventures. I am currently on our second Bear as the first decided about a year ago to stay in Philadelphia because he loves Cheese steak sandwiches. My daughter was not happy about this (nor was I), but she seems to be holding up so far even though the sadness does make a difference.
Lately, I have been thinking of how great it would be to pull one DVD together with all of Bear’s adventures in one place. I was recently introduced to the company YesVideo and I was surprised to see how easy they make it for a person like me who simply loves to take pictures and video and then turn these into a DVD that you can keep for all time.
