On December 2-4 I had the experience of a lifetime to travel to Los Angeles and experience the magic, wonder and mystery that surrounds Star Wars – The Last Jedi. The trip surrounded the December 3 Press Junket and brought forth a ton of excitement from all of the actors that were present, but also all of the people in the audience too.
After the press event we interviewed: Domhnall Gleeson (“General Hux”), Gwendoline Christie (“Captain Phasma”), Laura Dern (“Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo”), and Kelly Marie Tran (“Rose Tico”).

While Domhnall Gleeson may seem evil in Star Wars – The Last Jedi, in our interview you could tell he was fun-loving and just truly enjoying the whole Star Wars experience.
One of the interesting things we learned about Domhnall Gleeson was that while the rest of the cast saw the entire movie the week prior to the press event, he chose not to do this because, as he said “I would rather see it with people that do not know what is coming to experience it through their eyes.”

I talked to Domhnall Gleeson about the rage that he shows in his character and where he finds this for himself. Domhnall explained that it was more than rage and instead there was a desperation about him to have power and to be seen as important. “You have to put yourself in that place as insecurity is not a solid place to start.”

Domhnall Gleeson explained that at the beginning of the second movie you see that Geberal Hux is in a bad place. He has lost the base and has had to flee and retreat. He still wants his place on the throne but in this movie he is in a desperate place and you have to understand this to understand the character.

We asked Domhnall Gleeson about how hard it is to keep the secrets that Star Wars – The Last Jedi requires. He shared that “it’s hard to not be able to spoil things for people…it’s easy to say nothing and it’s hard to say little.” He further explained that there is a general understanding amonst the cast of what we can or cannot say.

In this film Domhnall Gleeson sais that it really explores the light and dark of all characters. “Everyone has light and dark moments.”
In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.
